IN THE 'MATTER OF THE VACATION OF CERTAIN EAS~TS
F~R PUBLIC USE IN PARADISE VALLEY SUBDIVISION.
RESOLVED by tn, city council of t~e City of South San F~ancisco, a municipal
corporation in tn. 0ounty of San Mat.o, State of California, that public interest and
convenience require and that it is the intention of sam city council to order t~e
following public work to be done in said city, to-wit:
That tn, easement for public use on each of the parcels of land hereinafter describ-
ed be vacated ar~ closed up in whole.
The land hereinbefore referred to consists of all those certain parcels of land
situate in tn, City of South San Francisco, County of San Mat,o, State of California,
and particularly described as follows, to-wit:
PARCEL 1. A strip of land of the uniform width of 6 feet lying contiguous to and
southwesterly of tn, northeasterly boundary line of lot 17 of block 3, as the same are
delineated and so designated upon trot certain map hereinafter mentioned and extending
from the southeasterly boundary line of said lot iV northwesterly to a line parallel with
ahd distant 5.0 feet southeasterly from (measured perpendicularly to ) the northwesterly
boundary line of said lot
Parcel 2. A strip of land of. the uniform width of 6 feet lying contiguous to and
southwesterly of the northeasterly boundar~ line of lot 34 of said blok 3, as the same is
delineated and so designated upon said map, and extending from the northwesterly boundary
line of said lot 34 southeasterly to a line parallel with and distant 5.0 feet northwesterly
from (measured perpendicularly to) the southeasterly boundary line of said lot 34.
The map hereinbefore referred to is that certain map entitled mSubdivision Map of
Paradise Valley South San F~ancisco San Mateo Co. Calif,", which ~ap.wa s filed in the
office of tn, County Recorder of the County of Ban Mateo, Califorhia, Marc~ 20, 1940, ih
Volume 22 of Maps at page 40.
That it is unnecessary to take any land therefor.
That the following described district of land is hereby declared to be the district
benefited by said work amd to be assessed to ~ay the c0st~ and expenses thereof and t~at
Said-district iS situated in tn. City of South Ban FranciscoA County of San Mateo, S~te
~of California, and particula?ly described as follows, to-wit:
~BEGINNING at the point where tne~southerly boundary~ line of lot numbe?ed t~Lrty-three
in block numbered three (3) as shown upon said map__intersects the easterly line of Clax~-
mont Ay. and xninning easterly along the soutnePly boundary line of said lot numbered thirty-
three (33), prolonged easterly, and the southerly boundary line of 10t numbered sixteen (16),
in said block numbered three (3),'to t~e westerly boundary line of Belmont Ave.; thence south-
erly and~westerly along'the boundary line~ of It numbered seventeen (iV), in said block nunber-
ed three (S),~ and cofltinuing along~ the~ n~rtherly boundary line Of Hillsid~ Boulevard ar~ the
southerly boundary line of lot numbered t~irty-fottr (34), in said block ~umbered three (3),
as shown upon said ~ap, to the point of beginning, excepting therefrom, all'ways~and areas of
any character dedicated to any public use.
All the herein proposed work shall be done Ln p~rsuance of Division 5 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California;
The street superintendent is hereby directed to cause' to be conspicuously posted along
the line of said contemplated wore or improvement, notices of tn, passage of this resolution
Of intention in the manner and form required by law. Said street superintendent' is like-
wise directed also to cause a notice similar in substance to be published by t~ree (3) in-
sertions in "The Enterprise", a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City of
South San Francisco, which newspaper is hereby designated by said city council as the news-
paper in which said street superintendent's notice of passage of this resolution shall be
pub ii shed.
