RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND NICOLA RE AND GIOVAN~,~I CORS0, WITH RE-
FERENCE TO TttE MAINTENA~ICE OF THE " ITY GARBAGE D~:IP.
RESOLVED by the ciby council of the city of South San Francisco that said City of
South San Francisco enter into a contract with Nicola Re and Giovanni Corso, in which it shall
be provided as follows:
Said Nicola Re and Giovanni Corso snail have the exclusive right to deposit upon
the garbage dt~mp, now maintained by said city of South San Francisco, any garbage originating
within said city of South San Francisco and within Visitac$.on, Brisbane, Lomita Park and
H illbrae, County of San I¥iateo, State of California, but not elsewher&;
Said Nicola Re and Giovanni Corso may charge all persons, firms smd corporations,
who may desire to deposit garbage upon said garbage dump, the following prices:
10~ per can of twenty-five (25) gallons and 50~ p~r truck load, i.rrespective
of size.
It shall be the obligation of said Nicola Re and Giovanni Corso to:
1. Keep some responsible person in charge of said garbage dump a~ all times
when the enclosure, in which said dump is located, is open;
2. To maintain said garbage dump in a good and workmanlike manner and to cause
all fires, irrespective .of the cause of the same, to be distinguished not later than the
time of sunset each day;
3. To maintain a barbed wire ~ate, of substantial structure, across the road
on which the entrance to said garbage dump is located, and to keep such gate securely
closed and locked at all times when said garbage dump shall not be open for use;
4. To keep said garbage dump open at all times between the hour of 8:00 o'clock
a. m. andthe hour of 7:00 o'clock p. m. of each day, excepting Sundays, and on Sundays
to keep said dump open from the hour of 8:00 o'clock a. m. to the hour of ll:00 o'clock a.m.
5e To hold said City of South San Francisco free and haHnless from every kind of
liability w~icn may ~ise or occur in connection with the use of said garbage dump by any
person, persons, firm or corporation.
The agreement herein authorized shall extend over the period of five (5) years from
t~e 18th ds~ of May~ 194~e
Said Nicola Re and Giovanni Corso shall not permit any person, firm or corporation
to deposit on said dump any garbage not originating with said City of South San Francisco
or said Brisbane, Visitacion, Lomita Park and ~illbrae.
Said City of Soutn Sau~Fr~ncisco shall cause a supply of water to be conducted to
said garbage dump, through a pipe having au internal diameter not greater t~an two (~)
inches, but sufficient for the purpose of extin~_~uis~ing any fires woicn may exist in or
upon said garbage dump.
The mayor and city clerk are hereby authorized and directed, in t~e name of said
city and under its seal, to execute t~e agreement herein authorized.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted
by the city council of the city of South San Francisco, t~is 15th day of June, 194~, by
the following vote:
