HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 864-1942 RESOLUTION NO. 864 RESOLUTION 0P INTENTION TO ADAi,~0N Yd~rD DISC0~INUE PARK LA,ID RESOLVED by the city co~mcil of the City of South San Francisco that it is the intention of said city council to abandon and discontinue, as a park, all that certain tract or parcel of land situate in the city of ~outh San ~ranc~ sco, Co~.~unty of 5an Hateo, State of California, and part~nlarly described as follows, to-wit: BEGiI'~!'ING at a point wi~ich bears north 14° 1!' east, 350°09 feet from the inter- section of the centerline of Eucalyptus Avenue with the north line of ~diller Avenue, as said avenues are shown on that certain map entitled, "~.~ao of South San ?rancisco, Plat ~!Oo 1", recorded ?.arch 1, 1892, in Vol. 2 of .~aps at page 52, S~u ~,~.ateo County llecords; running thence north 9° 45' east 532.V6~; thence so~th 89o 0O' east !SoV0 ~eet; thence on a curve to the right, having a radius of 225.00 feet and a central mm~gle of 19° a distance of V6.18 feet; thence tmngent to said curve south 69° 40' east 113.43 feet; thence on a curve to the right, having a radius of 125o00 feet and a central angle of 10~ 02'~ a distance of 231.33 feet; thence tangent to said .~_ast curve south 36° 22' west !3o' feet; thencc on a curve to the left, having a radius of 350.00 feet, and a central. of 26° 12', a distance of 150o05 feet; thence tangent to said last c. urve south 10° 10' west Vlo18 feet; thence on a curve to the left. havin~ a radius of 450.00 feet, a central a~mgle of 16o 00' and whose chord bears south 2~ 10' west 125.25 feet, a distsmc~e of feet; thence north 74° 27' west, 268.74 feet to the point of hegiras_lng; containing 3.335 acres, more or less. Said city council hereby finds that said tract of-land is not appropriate, con- venient or necessary for park purposes; that such pUrported park tzas not been used by the public for park purposes; that no consideration has been paid therefor e~cept by sai, municipal corporation; and that no public funds have been expended to improve the s~e as a park. Said city council hereby fixes the 8th day of September~ at the hour of 8:00 0'C1 p. m., in the council cha:/..~er of said city co~mcil, in the city of ~outh San ~'~ranc!.sco, County of San ~f. ateo, State of California, as the ti~ and place when and rahere said city council will meet to take final action u'j.on the proposition to abandon and discontinue such purported park. This resolution of intention shall be published once a week for tlmree (3) !! successive weeks prior to said 8th day of September, 1942, in "TI'~ '~_hate~0rise , paper of general circulation published in said 0ity of South San Francisco. a news- The city clerk is hereby directed to ca~se this resolution to be published in sai newspaper, in the manner and form~ required by law and by this resolution. 'iZhe city engineer is hereby directed to post this resolution conspicuously along the boundaries of the land hereinbefore described~ which laud is the ourported park pro- posed to be abandoned, not less than one hundred (100) feet apart, bu~ not less than four (4) in all. This resolution is adopted in pursuance of that certain act of the legislature of the Sta.~e of California entitled "An act to authorize municipal corporations to abandon parks and sell and convey the land embraced therein," statutes of 1939, ~hapter ll0V. -,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,- I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the city council of the city of South San Francisco, this 3rd day of August, 1942, by ti~e following vote: Ayes, CounciLmen D.
