RESOLVED by the city council of South San i.'ranCisco, that the resolution, adopt-
ed by said City Council on the 15th day of June, 1942, in whic~ the exclusive right to
deposit garbage upon the dump maintained by said city, was granted to Nicola Re and
Giovanni Corso, be, and the same hereby is amended so that said resolution, as s~aended,
shall read as follows:
Said Nicola Re. and Giovanni Corso shall have the exclusive right to deposit upon
the garbage dump, now maintained by said city of South .Ban Frs~cisco, any garbage originat-
ing within said City of South San Francisco and within Visitacion, Brisbane, Lomita Park
and ~.,[illbrae, County of San Yiateo, State of California, but not elsewhere;
Said Nicola Re and Giovanni Corso may charge all persons, firms and corporations,
who may desire to deposit garbage upon said garbage dump~ the followi~ prices:
of
1. 10~ per can of twenty-five (25) gallons and 50~ per truck load, irrespective
size, but not exceeding three (3) cubic yards.
For garbage originating outside of the city of So[~th fSan Francisco t~e above
mentioned prices shall not apply, but the second parties may fix their own prices for the
garbage referred to in this paragraph.
2. Keep some responsible person in charge of said garbage dump at all times
when the enclos~.~re, in which said d~nup is located, is open;
~ To maintain said garbage dump in a good and workmanlike manner and to cause
all fires, irrespective of the cause of the same, to be ext~.nc~uished not later than
the time of sumset each day;
4. To maintain a barbed wire gate, of substantial structure, across the road
on which the entrance to said garbage dump. is located, and to keep such gate securely
closed and locked at all times when said garbage dump shall not be open for use;
~ To keep said ?:arbage dump open at all times between the hour of 9:00 o'clock
a.m. and the hour of 5:00 o'clock p. m. of each day, excepting Sundays, and on Sundays
to keep said dump open from the hour of 8:00 o'clock a. m. to the hour of ll;00 o'clock
6. To hold said city of South San z ranc_~sco free and ]~m-,~.less 'rom e very kind
of liability which may arise or occur in cormectlon with the use of said garbage d~nnp
by any person, persons, firm or corporation.
The agreement herein authorized s?ml! extend over the period of five (5) years
from the 18th day of ~day, 1942.
V. Said Nicola Re and Giovanni Corso shall not permit any person, firm or
corporation to deposit on sa-id dura any garbage not originating vrithin ~id City of South
San ~rancisco, or said Brisbane, Visitacion, Lomita Park and !4illbrae.
8. Said City of South San Francisco shall cause a supply of water to be con-
ducted to said garbage .dump, through a pipe having a internal diameter not less than
one and one-half (l-l/2) inches nor greater than two (2) inches, but sufficient for the
purpose of extinguishing any fires which may exist in or upon said garbage dump.
The mayor and city clerk are hereby authorized and directed, in the name of said
city and under its seal, to execute the agreement herein authorized.
