HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 879-1942366 RESOEUTION NO. 366 RESOLUTION CALLING FOR BIDS ~OR AUTOMOBII~ FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANC~C0. RES0~MED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that public interest and convenience require that said city purchase a new automobile for the police department of said city. The bidder, to whom the contract will be awa~ied for such automobile, will be required to purchase of said city the Buick 8 Sedan automobile nc~ being used in the police depax~tment of said city, Which a~tomobile b'ears engine No. 64,19§,226, and the sum of money offered for said Buick 8 Sedan automobile shall be applied upon the purchase price for t~e automobile to be acquired. The City Clerk of said city is hereby directed to publish by two (2) insertions in "The Enterprise", a newsPaPer of general circulation printed amd published in the City of South San FranCisco, the following notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for suc~ automobile: NOTICE INVITING SEAT.ED PROPOSAI~ OR BIDS FOR FURNISHING AN AUTOMOBILE TO THE CITY OF ~0b~H SAN FRANCISCO. Sealed proposals will he received by the city council of the City of South San Fran- cisco until 8:00 o' clock p. m. on Monday, the 4th day of Januax,y, 1943, for furnishing to said city, for use by the police department of said city, a Buick Sedan, Model 76 S 42. Such automobile shall be fUlly equipped. Each bidder shall, in conjunction~ with his_bid, offer to purchase the Buick Sedan automobile now owned by said City of South San Francisco and used in the police depart- ment of said City, which Buick ~edan automobile bears engine No. 64,196,226. The amount of such offer shall be applied upon the purchase price of t~e automobile which may be purchased by said city, in the event of an award of contract, pursuant to this notice, and a transfer of said Buick Sedan automobile, now owned by said City, to the successfUl bidder. The successful bidder shall, without compensation, transfer to the automobile to be purchased by said City the siren, red lights and spot light now on the Buick automobile, which the sm~.~essful bidder shall agree to purchase. No bid will b e considered by said city council, unless the same is accompanied by an offer to purchase said Buick Sedan a~tomobile now owned by said city. All sealed proposals cr bids will be opened by said city council in public session, on Monday, the 4th day of January, 1~3, at 8:00 o'clock p. m. in the council chamber of said city council.
