RESOLUTION CALLING FOR BID3 FOR AUTOMOBILE
FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SEN FRANCISCO.
RESOLVED by tn. city council of the city of south San Francisco that public interest
and convenience require that said city purchase a new automobile for the police department
of said City. The bidder, to whom the contract will be awarded' for such automobile, will
be required to purchase of said City tn. Buick 8 Sedan a~tomobile now being used in the
police department cf said city, which automobile bea~s engine No. 64,195,226, and the sum
of money offered for said Buick 8 sedan automobile shall be applied upon tn. purchase pri~
for the automobile to be acquired.
The City Clerk of said city is hereby directed to publish by two (2)i inse~ttOna
in the "Enterprise", a newspaper of general circulation printed· and published in the City
of South San Francisco, the following notice inviting sealed p~oposals or bids for such
automobile:

FURNISHING AN AUTOMOBILE TO THE CITY OF SOUT~i
SAN FRANCISCO.
Sealed proposals will be received by t~e city-council of the city of South San Fran-
cisco until 8:00 o'clock p. m. on Monday. the 1st day of February, 1943, for 2urnishing
to said city, for use by t~e police depa~tmer~ of said city, a Buick sedan automobile, mod,
61-42. Such automobile shall be fully equipped.
Each bidder shall, in conjunction with his bid, offer to purchase the Buick sedan
automobile now owned by said city of South San Francisco and used in the police department
of said city, which Buick sedan automobile bears engine No. 6~,19§,226, but not including
the siren, red lights, spot light,~ generator and battery now on said automobile. The
amount of such offer shall be applied upon the purchase price of the automobile whic~ may
be purchasd by said City, in the event of an award of contract, pursuant to this notice~
and a transfer of said Buick sedan automobile, now owned by said city, to the successful
bidder. The successful bidder snail, without compensation, transfer to the automobile to
be purchased by said city t~e siren, red lights, and spot light now on the Buick automobi~
whica t~e successfUl bidder shall agree to purcnase. Said successful bidder will not be
required to transfer the generator and battery from the automobile now owned by said city
to the automobile to be acquired by said city pursuant to t~nis notice.
No bid will be considered by said city council, unless the same is accompanied by
an offer to purchase said buick sedan automobile now ownedby said city.
All sealed proposals or bids will he opened by said city council in public session

on Monday, the 1st day of Sebruary, 1943, at 8.00 o clock p. m. in t~e council cham~er
of said city council. The-city council hereby rese~es the right to reject any and all
bids.
