A RESOLUTION OF T~2~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, PROVIDING ~0R HOLDING
A GENERAL MUNICIPAL E~CTION IN SAID CITY ON
THE llth DAY OF APRIL, 1944.
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that, for the purpose
of holding the general municipal election in said city on the llth day of April, 1944, as
provided by law, said city be,. and the same hereby is divided into ten (10) election pre-
cincts, to be known as Voting Precinct A, Voting Precinct B, Voting Precinct C, Voting
Precinct D, Voting Precinct E, Voting Precinct F~ Voting Precinct G, Voting Precinct H,
Voting Precinct I and Voting Precinct J, 'respectively.
Voting Precinct A shall include all the territory described in South San Francisco
Precinct No. 1 and South San ~ 2_
Zrancisco Precint No. as established by that certain re-

precincts and establishing the bourKiaries thereof", passed and adopted by the Board of
Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, California, December V, 1943, and votin~o place

Voting Precinct B shall include all the territory described in South San Francisco N9.
and South San Francisco Precinct No. 19, as established by said resolution of the Board-

shall be in D. Tognela's Garage at No. 801 Miller Avenue in said City.
Voting Precinct C shall include all the territory described in South San Francisco
Precinct No. ~ and South San Francisco Precinct No. 15, as established by said resolution
of 'the Board of Supervisors of said County of San Matee, and the polling place for said
Voting Precinct C shall b e in M. Laufer's Garage at No. lll ~agnolia Avenue in said city.
Voting Precinct D shall include all the territory described in South San Francisco
Precinct No. 5 and South San Francisco precinct No. 8, as established by said resolution
of the Board of Supervisors of said County of San ~iateo, and the polling place for said
voting precinct D shall be in H. Cavassa's ~arage at No. ~78 Baden Avenue in said city.

Precinct No. 7~ and South San Francisco Precinct No. 8, as established by said resolution
of the Board of Supervisors of said County of San Ma~eo, and the polling place for said
Voting Precinct E s~all be in Nello Certiberi's Garage at No. 517 ~aple Avenue in said

Voting Precinct F shall incoude all the territory described in South San Francisco
Precinct No. 9, South San Francisco Precinct No. lC, and South San Francisco ~Joting Precinct
No. -16, as established by said resolution of the Board of Supervisors of said County of San
~iateo, and the polling plaCe for said Voting Precinct F shall b e in James Oraterola's
Garage at No. 219 Lux Avenue~ in sa~_d City.
Voting Precinct G shall include all the territory described in South San Francisco
Precinct No. 12, as established by said resolution of the Board of Supervisors of said County
of San Mateo, and the polling place for said Voting Precinct G shall be in ~inna Hendel's
Garage at No. lO11 Bayshore Highway in said city.
Voting Precinct H sfm~ll include all the territory described in South San Francisco

County of San ~ateo, and the polling place for said Voting Precinct J shall be in Alfred
Petroni's Garage at No. 40~ Orange Avenue in said city.

That, at ~aid general municipal election, t~ere will be submitted to the electors
of said City of South San Francisco the proposition or question whether Ordinance No. 227
entitled "An ordinance amending ordinance No. 216, entitled 'An ordinance of the City of
South San Francisco creating and establishing a personnel system for said city'", passed
by the city council of the city of South San Francisco on the 18th day of Jaouary, 1943,
the effective date of which ordinance was suspended by a referendum petition filed in the
office of the City Clerk of said city on the 16th day of February, 1943, shall become
effective.
At said general municipal election, there will also be submitted to the electors
of said city of South San Francisco an ordinance proposed by an initiative petition~ to
amend section ~ of Ordinance 51 entitled "An ordinance fixing the salaries and com-
pensation of the Treasurer, Clerk, Marshal and Recorder of the City of South San Fran-
aisco and repealing ordinance number 8 of the City of South San Francisco, passed on the
14th day of December, 1908, entitled 'An ordinance fixing the salaries and compensation
of Treasurer, Clerk, ~arshal and Recorder of the City of South San Francis co~'"passed on
April l, 1912, shall be amended so tb~t said Section 2~ as amended, shall read as follows:
Section 2. The clerk shall receive a salary of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars
(~250.00) per month.
At said general municipal election the polls in each of said voting precincts shall
be opened at 6 o'clock a. m. of the day of election and shall be kept opss until 7 o'clock
of said day, when the polls shall be closed.
A sufficient number of ballots shall be and is hereby directed to be prepared and
caused to be printed for sai~ precincts, as pr~ided by law and upon the proper kind of
paper, to-wit: the same as used at the general elections in the State of California,
by the Clerk of the City of South San Francisco and shall be furnished ~_ud provided for
the use of the voters at said general election. The City Clerk is~ hereby also directed
to procure the necessary voting booths and to see that they are properly erected and to
secure all necessary election materials and supplies required by law.
Ss~d city clerk is hereby directed to Tire notice of said election by publication
thereof once in "The Enterprise" a newspaper of general circulation, published and
circulated in said city, in the manner and form required by law.
