NOTICE INVITING SEAL~ PROPOSALS TO PL~CHASE FIRE HOSE FROH THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. WHEREAS the City of ~outh San Francisco now owns eight hundred (800) feet of one and one-half (1~) inch fire hose, for which said city has no use and, in the opinion of said City Council, it will be to the advantage of said City to sell said fire hose; RESOLVED by the City CoUncil of the City of South San Francisco that public interest and advantage rgquire the sale by said'City of South San Francisco of eight hundred (800) feet of one and one-half (I½) inch fire hose now owned by said City of South San Francisco. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish by two insertions in "The Enterprise", a news- paper of general circulation published and circulated in said City of South San Francisco, a notice in substantially the following form: NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIRE HOSE FROM THECITY OF SOUTH SAN FRARUISCO Notice is hereby given that the City of South San Francisco intends to sell to the highest bidder for cash eight hundred (800) feet of one and one-half (1~) inch fire hose now owned by said City of South San Francisco. Sealed proposals will be received for the purchase of said fire hose on the 5th day of March, 1945, at the hour of § o'clock p.m., in the Council Chamber of the City Council of the City, in the City Hall of said~City. All sealed proposals for the purchase of said fire hose will be opened at said time and place. Each bidder will be required to deposit a certified check in connection with his bid, in the amount of ten per cent (10%) of his bid, as guarantee that, in the event that he may be the successful bidder for said fire hose, he will take said hose and pay to said City of South ~an Francisco the full amount of his bid therefor in cash. In the event that such successful bidder shall fail or neglect within a period of five (5) days after said City Council shall have detenmined that he is the highest bidder for said hose, the amount of said check shall be forfeited to and retained by said City of South San Francisco as liquidated damages. The contract for the purchase of said hose shall be awarded to the highest responsible bidder. By order of the City Council of the City of 'South San Francisco. Dated February 19, 1945.
