RESOLUTION PROTESTING TO SAN Pl!T~I) COUNTY PLA~ING
CO.!?,~ISS!ON AGAINST GRANTING SAN ~'~TEO SHERIFF'S POSSE
CLUB ~ PF~,~IT TO CONSTRUCT STABI, ES NEAR SOUT!.~,YOOD.
~%q~EREAS the city Council of the City of South San Francisco has been informed that the San
~ateo County Sheriff's Posse intends to construct certain stables in the vicinity of that certain sub-
division of said city known as Southwood and to keep a number of horses therein and has made application
to the Sah ~¥?ateo County Planning Commission for a permit for that purpose; and
~KEREAS this city' council believes that. if such stables are constructed and horses are kept
therein, great swarms of flies will be attracted thereby and will spread to said So~thwood area and carry
f4!th to the homes of said area; and
~VHEREAS said city council believes that the ~aintenance of such stable,s and horses will 'be
otherwise detrimental to said Southwood ares, as a residential district; and
WHERF~S one hundred and ninety six persons residing in said area have, in writing, protested
against such stables;
RESOL~_m]3 by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said City Council hereby
protests against the location of such stables at said place and the maintenance of horses therein and
respectfully requests that said San Mateo Planning Commission refuse to issue a permit to said San Nateo
County Sheriff's Posse to construct such stables and to maintain horses therein.
The city Clerk is hereby directed to send a copy of this resolution to the San t~[ateo ~ounty
Planning Commission.
I hereby certify that the foregoing reselution was regularily introduced and adopted by ~e
