HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1051-194514 RESOLUTION ORDERING THE WORK NO. lO51 RESOLVED that, whereas the City Council of the City of South San Francisco did, on the 22nd day' of August 1945, pass its resolution of intention No. 1043 to order the street work described in said resolution to be done in said city, which resolu~on of intention was duly and regularly published, as required by l~v, as appears from the affidavit of Myra R. Spangler now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said ci~'; and WHEREAS notices of the passage of said resolute, on of intention No. 1043 were dnly and regularly posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvenent and in front of all the prope _r~y liable to be assessed therefor, and along all the open streets within the district in said resolution of intention described, in %he manner and form required by law, as appears from the affidavit of Henry L. Schweining, Superintendent of Streets of said city, now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city; and WHEREAS notices of the adoption of said resolution of intention were, on the let day of September, 1945, mailed by the City Clerk to all persons who, according to the information and belief of said City Clerk, were then the owners of all the property proposed to be assessed to pay the costs of said work, in the manner smd form required by the "Improvement Act of 1911", as appears from the affidavit of Daniel Mc~weeney, the City Clerk of said city; and ~HEREAS no protest or objection against said work has been received by said City Clerk or by said City Council at any time; N~V THEREFORE, RESOLVPiD that public interest and oonveni~ce require the street wrk described in said resolution of intention to be done and said City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby orders sai~ work to be do ne. Said City Council hereby ascertains that the general prevailing rates of per diem wages and the general prevailing rates fSr!.tegal holiday and overt~.ne ~ork applicable to said work to be done are as follows: CIgSSIFICA TION PER DIEM WAGE HOURLY WAGE RATES Bricklayers - 6 hour day Hodcarriers - 6 hour day Trenching mac~ne operator Pipelayer L~borers, skilled laborers, common Truck drive, rs 2 y~ds or less, per day ~ yards, per day 4 yards, per day 5 yards, per day Carpenters Roller operators Tractor operators Tractor, with boom 11.oo $1.87½ 9.oo 1.5o 13. The rate.for any employee not listed in the above schedule shall not be less than $1.10 per hour for skilled labor, $0.95 for intermediate labor and $0.90 for unskilled. Overtime work will be double the above rates. Sundays and holidays (except watchmen) double the above rates. Admission Day, The following are to be '~'onsi~ered holidays: New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day/LaborDay, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Saturdays and Sundays. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice of said work, together with the plans and specifications, on or nea~ the :~'mmcil chamber door, inviting sealed proposals for doing the work ordered. He is also directed to publish a notice inviting sealed proposals and refereing to the specifications posted or on file, by two insertions in "Th~ Enterprise", a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City of ~outh San Francisco and hereby designated for that purpose. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was re~!arly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, th~ 17th day of September , 1945, by the following vote; Ayes, Councilmen V.
