WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San Franc isco did, in open session on the let day
of October, 1945, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing all the improveme
described in Resolution of Intention No. 1043, which resolution of intention was adopted by said ~ity Council
the 22nd day of August, 1945, to which resolution of intention reference is hereby made for a description of
said work and the assessment district in Said resolution of intention described;
Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and to bear interest at
the rate of five per cent (%%) per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner porvided by Division 10 of
the Streets and Highways Code, in the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, the last installment of which bonds will
mature fourteen (14) years from the second day of July, next succeeding ten (10) months from their date.
Except as hereinbefore provided, all of the hereinbefore mentioned work shall be done in pursuanc
of an act of the I~gislature of the State of California designated as "Improvement ASt of 1911", appro.~red
April 7, 1911, and the amendments thereto.
RESOLVED that said City Council hereby rejects all said proposals or bids, except that next
hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for doing said work a~d improvement to the lowest re-
sponsible bidder, to-wit: L. C. Smith , at the prices named in his bid, to-wit:
Item 1. 6 inch diameter vitrified clay sanitary sewers, $~97 per lineal foot;

Item 8. 22 inch concrete pipe storm sewer, $3.75 per lineal foot;
Item 9. Brick catch basins with 'cast iron cover ~d threat, $1OO.00 each;

Suburban type curb, ~utter and 4' wide sidewalk, including preparation of sub-grade
and finish gradir4% $1.525 per lineal foot;
Standard ~ype curb, gutter and 4' wide sidw~alk, including preparation of sub-grade
and finish grading, $1.575 per lineal foot;

Standard type curb, gutter and 8 foot wide sidewalk, including preparation of sub-grade
and finish grading, $2.26 per lineal foot;
5 inch asphaltic concrete pavement, including preparation of sub,grade and finish
grading, ~$O.16 per square foot;
Item ~. Concrete Monuments, installed complete, as per plans, $32.75 each.

The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a notice of this award conspicuously for five (5)
days on or near the Council Chamber door of this council, and also to publish said notice by two (2) insertions
in "The h~terprise", a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in said City of South San
Francis co.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introdUced and adopted by the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco, this let day of October, 1945, by the following veto:
