HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1122-1946RESOLUTION NO. 1122 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF MCGUIRE AND HESTER FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SEWERS IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. WHEREAS t~e City Council of the City of South San Fraucisco did, in open session, on the 2$th day of May, 1946, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed, proposals or bids for doing t~e public improvement work hereinafter mentioned and described in resolution of said City Council adopted on t~e 14th day of May, 1945, which resolution reference is hereby made for further particulars; RESOLVED that said City Council hereby rejects all said proposals or bids except that next hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for doing said work to the lowest responsibl® bidder, to-wit: McGuire and Hester at the prices named in their bid, to wit: 1. The construction of 18-inch diameter vitrified clay tile sanitary sewer, Seven Dollars ($V.O0) per lineal foot. 2. The construction of a 21-inc~ diameter vitrified clay tile sanitary sewer, Eight and ?5/lOOths Dollars ($8.75) per lineal foot. 3. T~e construction of a 24-inch diameter vitrified clay tile sanitary sewer, Nine and §0/100 Dollars ($9.50) per lineal foot. 4. The construction of a 2V-inch diameter vitrified clay tile sanitary sewer, Ten and 50/lOOths ($10.§0) per lineal foot. 5. Brick manholes with cast iron frames and covers, Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) each. 6. Crushed rock sewer pipe support in place, Five Dollars ($5.00) per ton. The work, for which t~e contract is hereby awarded ~cGuire and Hester consists of the following: 1. The construction of a 27 incn vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer in 01d San Bruno Road, from the existing 27 inch sewer at the north line of the Union Paving Company's property to t~e north line of Colma Creek drainage canal. 2. The construction of a 24 inc~ vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer, complete with manholes, along the northerly line of the Colma Creek drainage canal from its inter- section with Old San Bruno Road to Spruce Avenue. 3. The construction of a 21 inch vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer, complete with manholes, along the northerly line of Colma Creek drainage canal from Spruce Avenue to the westerly line of Orange Avenue. 4. The construction of an 18 inch vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer, complete with manholes, in Spruce Avenue, from the northerly line of Colma Creek drainage canal to the existing 18 inch sewer 200 feet south of Railroad Avenue. All said work shall be done at the locations shown_upon the..plans referred to in said resolution and strictly in accordance with said plans and specifications accompanying the same. That all said work and materials used in connection there- with shall be furnished under the direction and to t~e satisfaction of the Works Engineer of said city. Tb~ contract for said work shall be entered into and said work shall be performed in strict accordance with t~e provisions of the notice inviting the sealed proposals or bids for construction of suc~ sanitary sewers in tne City of 8out~ San Francisco, of which notice forms a part of resolution hereinbefore mentioned. The Mayor of said city and tne City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed, in t~e name of said city and under its seal to execute t~e contract herein authorized. I hereby certify t~at the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, this 1st day of July, 1946, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen, G. ~.
