A RESOLUTION oF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DE-
CLARING ITS INTENTION TO DO
CERTAIN P U B L I C IMPROVE-
MENT WORK IN THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO IN THE
SUBDIVISION KNOWN AS MAY-
FAIR VILLAGE.
MAP NO. 2
WHEREAS public interest and
convenience require that the work
and improvements hereinafter de-
scribed should be done; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the
City Council of the City of South
San Francisco, said contemplated
work and improvement is, 'and it is
hereby declared to be of more than
local or ordinary public benefit; and
WHEREAS R. F. Galli and Ber-
nardine W. Galli, his wife, and South
San Francisco Land and Improve-
ment Company, as the owners of
the tract of land hereinafter de-
scribed as the district to be bene-
fited by the improvement work
hereinafter mentioned, have filed
with the City Clerk of said City an
instrument in writing reading as
follows:
"WAIVER OF PROVISIONS OF
SPECIAL ASSESSMENT AND IN-
VESTIGATION, LIMITATION AND
MAJORITY PROTEST ACT.
R. F. Galli and Bernardine W.
Galli, his wife, and South San Fran-
cisco Land and Improvement Com-
pany, a corporation organized and
existing under the laws of the State
of California, as owners of all that
certain tract of land described as
follows:
All that certain real property sit-
uate in the City of South San Fran-
cisco, County of San Mateo, State
of California, more particularly de-
scribed as follOWs: Begin at a point
which is the northeasterly corner
of Lot 29 in Block 1, as said lot and
block are designated on that certain
map entitled: "MAYFAIR VILLAGE
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF.",
which map was recorded in the Of-
rice of the County Recorder of the
County of San Mateo, California,
March 22, 1944. in Volume 24 of
Maps at pages 20 and 21; running
thence from said point of beginning
South 74'27' East 150 feet; thence
North 15'33' East 50 feet; thence
South 74'27' East 320 feet; thence
South 15°33' West 1618.23 feet;
thence North 74'27' West 470.00 feet
to the most southerly corner of Lot
37 in Block 5 as said lot and block
are designated on the above men-
tioned map of May/air Village;
thence North 15'33' East along the
southeasterly boundary of said May-
fair Village Subdivision 1568.23 feet
to the point of beginning,
hereby waive the benefit of that cer-
tain act of the Legislature of the
State of California known and desig-
nated as "Special Assessment and
Investigation, Limitation and Ma-
jority Protest Act of 1931", with
respect to all the improvements
hereinafter mentioned.
Said improvements are hereby
designated as follows:
The construction of vitrified clay
salt-glazed pipe sanitary sewer, with
manholes and appurtenances, and
the construction of concrete pipe
storm sewers, with manholes and
catch basins, and the construction
of a 5-inch waterbeund macadam
base pavement with 2%-inch asphal-
tic concrete wearing surface in Man-
zanita Avenue, Myrtle Avenue, Mag-
nolia Avenue, Redwood Avenue, and
Mayfair Avenue, as said avenues are
delineated upon that certain map
entitled: "MAYFAIR VILLAGE MAP
NO. 2 SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,
CALIF.", which map was filed in the
Ofifce of the County Recorder, Coun-
ty of San Mateo, State of California
on the 26th day of June, '1946, and
recorded in Book 25 of Maps at
Page 64.
We further request that proceed-
ings for the said improvement work
be commenced by the City Council
of the City of South San Francsico
under the provisions Of that certain
act of the Legislature of the State
of California designated as the "Im-
provement act of 1911" and that,
after the completion of said work,
serial bonds to represent unpaid
assessments and to bear interest at
the rate of five (5) per cent per
annum, be issued under the pro-
visions of Divisoin 10 of the Streets
and Highways Code, improvement
bond act of 1915, and that the last
installment of such bonds be made
to mature fourteen (14) years from
the second day of July next succeed-
ing ten (10) months from their date.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF said R. F.
Galli and Bernardine W. Galli have
hereunto set their hands and said
South San Francisco Land and Im-
provement Company has caused its
corporate name to be hereunto sub-
scribed by its president and its cor-
porate seal to be affixed by it sec-
retary, this 1st day of July, 1946.

AND, WHEREAS an estimate of
the cost and expense of said work
has been filed with the City Clerk
of said city;
the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that it is the inten-
tion of said City Council to order
the following work and improve-
ments to be done in said city, to
wit:
Said City Council does herby de-
termine and declare that said pro-
posed work and improvement is of
more than local or ordinary public
benefit and will affect and benefit
the lands and district hereinafter de-
scribed, which said district is here-
by declared to be the district bene-
fired by said work and improve-
and improvement shah be and here-
by are made chargeable against and
shah be assessed upon said lands and
district, except as hereinafter ex-
pressly provided, which district is
within the City of South San Fran-
cisco, County of San Mateo, State of
California, and particularly described
as follows, to wit:
The South San Francisco Journal,
a newspaper of general circulation,
printed and published in said City of
South San Francisco, is hereby des-
ignated as the newspaper in which
this resolution of intention shah be
published, and the City Clerk. is
hereby directed to cause this reso-
lution to be published by two (2)
insertions in the manner and form
required by law.
Said City Clerk is also directed to
mail a notice of the adoption of said
resolution of intention, postage pre-
paid, to aH persons owning real prop-
erty which is proposed to be assessed
to pay any part of the cost of said
work, whose names and addresses
. appear on the last equalized assess-
ment roll, or as known to said City
Clerk.
The Superintendent of Streets
shall cause to be conspicuously post-
ed along the line of said contem-
plated work or improvements, and
not more than three hundred (300)
feet in distance apart, but not less
than three (3) in all, and along all
the open streets within ~ district
at not more than ~ hundred
(300) feet in distance ~ on each
said street, notices of the passage
of this resolution of intention, in
the manner and form required by
the "Improvement Act of 1911".
I hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of
the City of South San Francisco, ~is
1st day of July, 1946, by the follow-
ing vote:
Ayes, Councilmen G. W. Holston,
Charles K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph
Sani, Emilio Cortesi. Noes, Council-
men None. Absent, Councilmen
None.
