RESOLUTION ORDERING WORK DESCRIBED
IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1117.
RESOLVED that~ whereas the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
did, on t~e 1Vth day of June, 1946, pass its resolution of intention No. lll7 to order
the improvement work described in said resolution to be done in said city, WhiCh re-
solution of intention was duly and regularly published, as required by law, as appears
from the affidavit of My~a R. Spangler, now on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said.city; and
WHEREAS notices of the passage of said resolution of ihtentton No. 1117
were duly and regularly posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement
and in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor, and along all the open
streets within the district in said resolution of intention described, in the manner
and form required by law, as appears from the affidavit of Her~yL. Schweining, Super-
intendent of Streets of said city, now on file in. the office of the City Clerk of said
city; and
WHEREAS notices of the adoption of said resolution of intention were, on
t~e l?th day of June, 1~6, mailed by the City Clerk to all persons who, according
to the information and belief of said City Clerk, were the owners of all the property
proposed to be assessed to pay the costs of said work, in the manner and form re-
quired by the "Improvement Act of 1911", as appears from the affidavit of Daniel J.
Hyland, the City Clerk of said city; and
WHEREAS no protest or objection against said work has been received by
said City Clerk or by said City Council at any time;
NOW, THEREFORE, RESOLVED that public interest and convenience require
the street work described in said resolution of intention to be done and said City
Council of the. City of South San Francisco hereby orders said work to be done.
Said City Council hereby ascertains t~at the general prevaili~g ~ates
of per diem wages and the general prevailing rates for legalholiday and over-
time work applicable to said work to be done as follows are:

Guards, watchmen and other common labor, not less than ninety cents (90;~)
per hour.
The rate for any employee not listed in the above schedule shall not be less
than $1.10 per hou~ for skilled labor, $0.95 for intermediate labor and $0.90 for u_n-
skilled.
Overtime work will be one and' one, half the abe rate~. ~undays and holidays
(except watchmen) double the above rates.
The following are to be considered holidays: New Year's Day, Decoration Day,
Independence Day, Labor Day, Admissibn Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmaa Day, and Satur-
days.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice of said work, together with
the plans anzl specifications, on or near the council chamber door, inviting sealed pro-
posals for doing the work ordered. He is also directed to publish a notice inviting
sealed proposals and referring to the specifications posted or on file, by two insertions
inThe Enterprise, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City of South San
Francisco and hereby designated for that purpose.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South Ban Francisco, this 15tn day of July,
1948, by the following vote:
