GRANT TO PACIFIC OAS AND ELECI~iiC CO~PANY TITLE TO

~E,:REAS, on the 29th day of Au~;~:ust, 1938, the City of South San Francisco, by
Ordinance No. 196, entitled: "Ordinance granting the Pacific Gas and Electric Company,
its successors and assigns, the franchise to use, for transmitting and distributing electricity
within the City of South San Francisco for any and all purposes other than those authorized under
Section 19 of Article XI of the Constitution of the State o~ California, as said section existed
prior to its amendment on October 10, 1911, all poles, wires, conduits and appurtenances which
are now or hereafter be lawfully placed on the public streets, rays and places within said city,
and to construct and use in said public streets, ways and places all poles, wires, conduits
and appurtenances including ~communication circuits necessary or proper for said PurPoses", grante
to Pacific Gas and Electric Company, a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the
State of California, a franchise to use for transmitting and distributing electricity within
the City of South San Francisco for any and all purposes other than those authorized under Sectic
19, Article XI, of the Constitution of the State of California as said section existed prior to
its amendment on October 10, 1911, all poles, wires, conduits and appurtenances which were then,
or might thereafter be lawfully placed on the public streets, ways and places within said City
of South San Francisco and to construct wires, conduits and appurtenances including communication
circuits necemsary or prop~ for said purposes; and
WHEREAS the tract of land next hereinafter mentioned was annexed to said City of South
San Francisco since the,gr~nting ~of said franchise, which tract of land is delineated upon ~mat
certain map entitled: RANCHO ~URI BURI SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,CALIFORNIA," which map was filed
in the office of the County Recorder of the Ccunty of San I~tateo, State of California, ~arch
1946, and recorded in Book 25 of ~iaps at pages 28, 29, and $0; and
WHEREAS, on the 2$rd day of April, 1946, the City of South San Francisco adopted
resolution of intention No. 109~ for the construction of certain public improvement work in the
tract of land delineated upon said map, ~ich public improvement work includes the ~ construction
of transite conduits to be used to enclose wires b transmit electricamrrent, and pursuant to
the provisions of said resolution of intention, some of such conduits have been constructed and
other conduits are now being constructed; and

described on said subdivision map will be served by placing such wires underground in said

N0?~, THERE£~0RE. RESOI.VED by the City COuncil of the City of South San Francisco that
said city grant to said ~acific Gas and Electric Company all its right, title and interest in an~
to the conduits keretofore constructed and hereafter to 0e constructed in the public streets
shown upon said subdivision map, which conduits are designed to be used to enclose wires of
transmission of electrical current for the purposes provided in said franchise.
The mayor and the City Clerk are hereby directed, in the name of. said city and under
its seal, to execute the grant hereby authorized.
I b_ereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of th~ City of South San Francisco on the 14th day of October,
by the following vote:
