hereinafter mentioned have, by an
instrument in writing, waived the
benefit of that certain act of the
Legislature of the State of Califor-
nia known and designated as "The
Special Assessment Investigation,
Limitation and Majority Protest Act
of 1931," and have requested that
the improvement work hereinafter
mentioned should be performed and
that costs of said improvement work
be assessed upon the district here-
inafter mentioned. In said instru-
ment in writing, it is provided as
follows: "We, the owners of the lots
or parcels of land situate in the City
of South San Francisco, County of
San Marco, State of California, end
designated opposite our re~ectlve
names, and located in B~ock num-
bered Eighty-two (82), as shown
upon that certain map entitled:
"SOUTH SAN~ FRANCISCO, SAN
MATEO CO. CAL. PLAT NO. 1",
which map was filed in the offAee of
the County Recorder of ~an MatZo
County, State of Californi&, and
corded in Map Book 2 at page 5;2,
hereby request the City Council of
said city to commence proceedings
under that certain street and im-
provement act known as the "Im-
provement Act of 1911" and the act
known as the "Improvement Bond
Act of 1915", for the improvement
of the portion of Second Lane, in
said City of South San Francisco,
extending from the westerly llne
of Orange Avenue to the easterly
line of Eucalyptus Avenue by grad-
ing for pavement and the construc-
tion of a cement concrete pavement
five (5) inches thick a~d the con-
structlon of two (2) sewer clean-
outs, six (6) inches in diameter
with cast-iron covers, in accordance
with the plans and specifications
for said work now on file in the of-
rice of the City Clerk of said City.
"We, end each of us, hereby waive
the benefit of that certain act of
the Legislature of the State of Cali-
fornia known and designated as
"The Special Assessment Investiga-
tion. Limitation and Majority Pro-
test Act of 1931", with respect to
the improvement of said portion of

and expense ~ ~aid work has been
filed with the city clerk of said city;
Now, therefore, resolved by the
City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that it is the intention
o~ ~ ~ity Council to order the
following work and improvements to
be done in said city: the improve-
ment of the portion of Second Lane
in said City of South San Francisco
extending from the westerly line of
Orange Averale to the easterly line
of Eucalyptus Avenue by grading for
pavement ax~ t~ construction of a
cemelxt concrete pavement five (5)
inches thick and the construction of
two (2) sewer clean-outs, six (6)
inches in diameter with cast-iron
covers, in accordance with the plans
and specifications for ~id work now
on file in the office c/ the City
Clerk of said city.
All the work herein provi~d for
shall be done in aec~'dan~ w~ the
special plans, proffiea and specifle~
tions for said work, and at the lo-
cation for said work ~ to the grade
shown upon said plans, which plans
and specifications we~ adopte~ by
said City Council on the 12th day
of November, 1946, and are now
on file in the office of the City
Clerk.
Reference is hereby made to said
plans and specifications for the
scription of said work and for the
loCation and the extent of the work
to be done thereunder and for the
grades to which said work shall
done, and for a particular descrip-
tion of the boundaries of the dis-
trict herein mentioned.
l~aid City Council does hereby de-
termine anti declare that said pro-
posed work and improvement is of
more than local or ordinary public
benefit and will affect and benefit
the lands and district hereinafter de-
scribed, which said district is here-
by declared to be the district bene-
fited by said work and improve-
ments, and that, ~cherefore, the
entire costs and expense of said
work and improvement shall be and
hereby are made chargeable against
and shall be assessed upon said
lands and district, except as here-
inafter expressly provided, which
district is within the City of South
San Francisco, County of San Ma-
teo, State of California, and par-
ticularly described as follows, to wit:
Block numbered Eighty-two (82)
as shown upon that certain map en-
titled: "SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,
SAN MATEO CO. CAL. PLAT NO.
1", which map was filed in the office
of the County Recorder of the Coun-
ty of San Marco, State of California,
March 1, 1892, and recorded in Map
Book No. 2 at page 52; saving excep-
ting and excluding from said district
ali the public streets, avenues and al-
leys, lanes, courts and places in-
cluded and contained.
Notice is hereby given that Serial
Bonds to represent unpaid assess-
merits and to bear interest at the
rate of five (5) per cent per annum,
will be issued hereunder in the man-
her provided by Division 10 of the
Streets and Highways Code, The Ira-
provement Bond Act of 1915, and
the last installment of such bonds
shall mature four (4) years from
the 2nd day of July next suceeding
ten (10) months from .their date.
The Enterprise, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed and pub-
tished in said City of South San
Francisco, is hereby designated as
the newspaper in which this reso-
lution of intention shall be pub-
lished, and the City Clerk is here-
by directed to cause this resolution
of intention to be published by two
(2) insertions in the manner and
form required by law.
Said City Clerk is also directed to
mail a notice of the adoption of this
resolution of intention, postage pre-
paid, to all persons owning real
property which is proposed to be as-
sessed to pay any part of the costs
of said work, whose names and ad-
dresses appear on the last equalized
assessment roll of said city or as
k~own to said City Clerk.
Tl~ Superintendent of Streets
shall cause to be conspicuously post-
ed along the line of said contemplat-
ed work or improvements, not more
than three hundred (300) feet in
distance apart, but not less than
.three (3) in all, and along all the
open streets within said district, at
not more. than three hundred (300)
feet in distance apart on each of
said streets, notices of the passage
of thin resolution of intention, in
the m~nner and form required By
the "Improvement ACt of 1911."
Notice is hereby given that on
Monday, the 2nd day of December,
1946, at the hour of 8 o'clock p. m.,
in the Council Chamber in the City
Hall of the City of South San Fran-
cisco, any and all persons having
any objections to the proposed work
and improvements may appear be-
fore said City Council and show
cause why said proposed work and
improvements should not be car-
ried out in accordance with this res-
olution.
Except as hereinbefore provided,
all of the hereinbefore work shall
be done pursuant to an act of the
Legislature of the State of California,
designated as "Improvement Act of
1911."
I hereby certify that the forego-
ing resolution was regularly intro-
duced and adopted by the City Coun-
cil of the City of South San Fran-
cisco this 12th day of November,
1946, by the following vote:

Sani, Emilio Cortesi.
