RESOLVED, that, whereas, the City Council of the C-ity of South San Francisco did, on the
12th day of Eovember, 1946, pass its resolution of intention No. ll51 to order improvement work
described in s aid resolution to be done in s aid city, which resolution of intentionwas duly and
regularly published, as required by law, as appears from the affidavit of Myra R. Spangler, now on
file in the office of the City Clerk Of said city; and
WHEREAS notices of the passage of said resolution of intention No. ll51 were duly and
regularly posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvements and' in front of all the
property liable to be assessed therefor, and along the line of said contemplated work and improvements
and in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor, snd along all the open streets within
the district in said resolution of' intention described, in the manner and form required by law,
a~ appears' from the affidavit of Henry L. Schweining, Superintendent of Streets of said city, now
on file in the office of the 0ity Clerk of said city; and
WHEREAS notices of the adoption of said resolution of intention were, on the 25th day
of 0mtober, 1946, mailed by the City Clerk to all persons who, according to the information and
belief of said City Clerk,. were then the owners of all the propertyproposed to be assessed to pay
the costs of said work. in th~ mann~ aud form required by the "Improvement Act of 1911", as appears
from the affidavit of Daniel J. Hyland, the City Clerk of said city; and
WHEREAS no protest or objection against said work has been received by said City Clerk or
.. by said City Council at any time;
NOW, THEREFORE, RESOLVED that public interest and convenience require the improvement wo~,k
described in said resolution of intention to be done and said City Council of the City of South San
Francisco hereby orders said work to be done.
Said City Council hereby ascertains that the general prevailing rates of per diem wages
and the general pre~ailing rates for legal holiday and overtime work applicable to said work to be
done as follows:

Guards, watchmen and other common labor, not less that $0.90 per hour'.
The rate for any employee not listed in the above schedule shall not be less that $1.10
per hour for skilled labor, $0.95 for intermediate labor and $0.90 for unskilled labor.
Overtime work will be ttma and a half for time mOVer eight hours, and on Saturdays, and
double time on Sundays.
The following are to be considered holidays; New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence
Day, Labor Day, Admission Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice' of said work, together with the plans
and specifications, on or near the Council Chamber door, inviting sealed oro~sels for doing the
work ordered. He is also directed to publish a notice inviting sealed/~PP~i~ the work ordered.
He is also directed to publish a notice inviting sealed proposals and refer to the specifications
posted or on file, by two insertions in "The Enterprise, a weekly newspaper published and circulated
in said City of South San Francisco and hereby designated for that purpose.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regulsrly introduced and adopted
by the City Council of the City of South Ssn Francisco, this 30th day of December, 1946, by
the folding vote:~
