RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 1220
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A
SANITARY SEWER FROM SOUTH
MAGNOLIA AVENUE TO SOUTH
SPRUCE AVENUE BETWEEN THE
BADEN BRANCH OF THE SOUTH-
ERN PACIPIC RAILROAD (X}I~-
PANY AND NORTH 0ANAL
STREET, IN THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO.
WHEREAS public interest and
convenience require that the work
.and improvement hereinafter des-
cribed should be done; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the
City Council of the City of South
San Francisco, said contemplated
work and improvement is, ama is
hereby declared to be o! mSre
local or ordinary public benefit;
WHEREAS the owners of the ]and
hereinafter described as the district
to be benefited by the' construction
of ssld improvement have, in writ-.
lng requested that the work here-
inafter mentioned should be d~ne
and have waived benefit of that cer-
tain act of the Legislature of the
State of Ca,!ifornia known and des-
ignated as 'The Special Assessmer~t
Investigation, Limitation and Ma-
jority Protest Act of 1931,' with re-
spect to said work; and
WHEREAS an estimate of the
cost and expense of said work has
been filed with said city clerk:
NOW, THEREFORE, RESOLVED
by the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco that it is the
intention o/ said City Countil to
order the following work and im-
provementa to be done in said city
to-wit:
The ~ons~A-uction of a sewer be-
tween ~th Magnolia Avenue and
South Spruce Avenue, three hun-
dred and twenty-five ($25) feet
south of the southerly boundary
line of the Baden Branch of the
Southern Pacific Railroad Com-
pany and North Canal Street.
All work herein provided for ~hall
be done in accordance with the spe-
cial plans, profiles and speciflca.
tions for said work, and at the lo-
cation and to the grade shown upon
said plans, which plans, profiles and
specifications were heretofore adopt-
ed by said City Council on the 28th
day of May, 1947, and are now on
file in the office of the city clerk.
Reference is hereby made to said
plans, p!;ofiles and specifications for
a full description of said work and
for the location and the extent of
the work to be done hereunder and
./or the grade to which said work
is to be done, and for a particular
description of the boundaries of tim
district herein mentioned.
Said City Council does hereby de-
termine and declare that said pro-
posed work and improvement is of
more than local or ordinary public
benefit and will affect and benefit
the lands and district hereinafter
described, which said district is
hereby declared to be the district
benefited by said work and improve-
ment, and that therefore, the eh-
tire cost and expense of said work
and improvement shall be and here-
by are made chargeable against and
shall be assessed upon said land and
district, except as hereinafter ex-
pressly provided, wh!_~_ district
within the ~rty of South San
cisco, County of San Mateo,
of California, and particularly ~
scribed as follows, to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point 100 feet
south 15 degrees, 33 min., west o/
the southwest corner of lot num-
bered 20 in block numbered 119, a~'
shown upon that certain map
titled: "Plat No. 2, Subdivision o/
Blocks 98, 99, 119, and 122, South
San Francisco, California," which
map was filed in the office of the
County Recorder of the County of
San Mateo, California, November
10, 1900, and recorded in Book 3
of Maps at page 4; thence south 15
degrees, 33 min., west 325 feet;
thence south 74 degrees, 27 min.,
east 100 feet; thence north 15 de-
grees, 33 min., east 325 feet; thence
north 74 degrees, 27 in., west 1000
feet to the point of beginning; saving,
excepting and excluding from said
district all public streets, avenues,
and alleys, lanes, courts and places
included and contained.
· Notice is hereby given that Serial
Bonds to represent unpaid assess-
ments, and to bear interest at the
rate of five (5) per cent per a~tnum,
will be issued hereunder in the man-
ner provided by Division 10 of the
Streets and Highways Code, in the
Improvement Bond Act of 1915, and
the last installment of such bonds
shall mature six (6) years from the
2nd day of July, next succeeding ten
(10~ months from their date.
"The Enterprise," a newspaper of
general circulation, printed and pub-
llshed in said City of South San
Francisco, is hereby designated as
the newspaper in which this reso-
lution of intention shall, be pub-
llshed, and the city clerk is hereby
directed to cause this resolution of
intention to be published By two (2)
insertions in the manner and form
r~qu/red by law.
Said City Clerk is also directed
to mail a notice of the adoption of
said resolution of intention, post-
age prapaicl, to all persons owning
real property which is proposed to
be assessed to pay any part of the
costs of said work, whose names
and addresses apear on the last
equalized assessment roll of said
city, or as known to said city cierk.
The superintendent of streets
shall ca~e to be conspicuously post-
ed alo~ the line of said contem-
plated wta~ and improvements,
and nst ~ than three hundred
(300) ~ in distance apart, but
not tees than three (3) in all, and
aice~ ~dl the open streets within
sa/d ~istrict, at not more than three
hundred (300) feet in distance
apart on each of said streets, no-
tices of the passage of this resolu-
tion of intention, in the manner and
form required by "Improvement Act
of 1911."
Notice is hereby given that on
Monday, the 7th day of July, 1947,
at the hour of 8 o'clock p. m. in
the Council Chamber of said City
Council of the City of South San
Francisco, any and all persons hav-
ing any objections to the proposed
work and improvements may appear
before said City Council and show
cause, why said proposed work and
improvements should not be car-
ried out in accordance with this
resolution, .'
Except as hereinbefore provided,
all of the herein Proposed work
shall be done pursuant to an act of
the Legislature of the State of Cali-
fornia, designated as "Improvement
Act of 1911."

Francisco this 2nd day of June, 1947,
