HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1239-1947 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1239 IN THE MATTER OF THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF CYPRESS AVENUE IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. CLOSING CYPRESS AVENUE FIRE SITE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, a municipal corporatiom, in the 0oun~ of San Marco, State of California, that public interest and convenience require and that it is the intention of said City Council to order the following work to be done in said city, to wit: That the portion of Cypress Avenue, in said City of South San Francisco, described as follows: Beginning at the southwest corner of the intersection of Baden Avenue with Cypress Avenue, as shown upon certain map entitled: "South San Franci. sco, San Mateo Co. Cal. Plat No. 1", which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of the Countytef San ~ateo, California, March 1, 1892, and recorded im Map Book No. 2 at page 52; thence southerly along the easterly line of lot numbered twenty-seven (27) in bloCk numbered one hundred forty-one (1~1), as shown upon said map to the south&e2y line of said lot numbered twenty-seven (27); thence easterly and parallel to the southerly line of Baden Avenue to the westerly ~oundary line of block n;:mbered one hu~ndred forty five (145); thence northerly along said westerly boundary line of said block numbered one hundred forty-five (1~5) to the southerly boundary line of Baden Avenue; thence westerly along the southerly boundary line of Baden Avenue to the point of beginning, be closed up in Whole. That it is unnecessary to take any land therefor. That the following described district of land is hereby declared to be the district benefited, by said work and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof and that said district is in the City of South San Fran- cisco, County of San ~ateo, State of California, and particularly described as follows, to wit: Beginning at a point where the westerly line of lot numbered twenty~seven (27) in block numbered one hundred forty one (141), as shown upon that certain map entitled: "South San Francisco, San Mateo Co. Cal.~ Plat No. 1", which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of the. County of San ~ateo, California, March 1, 1892, and recorded in Map Book No. 2 at page 52, intersects the southerly line of ~aden Avenue, as shown upon said map; thence southerly along the westerly boundary ii.ne of said lot numbered twenty-seven (27) to the south- erly boundary line of said lot numbered twenty-seven (27), thence easterly and parallel with the southerly line of Baden Avenue, to a point which is fifty (50) feet easterly from the easterly boundary line of block numbered one hundred forty-five (lA5), as shown upon said map; thence northerly and parallel to the westerly boundary line ef Baden Avenue; thence westerly along the southerly botundary line of Baden Avenue to the point of beginning. Ail of the herein, proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California known as the "Street Opening Act of 1889", the same being Division 5, Part 1 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. The Superintendent of streets is hereby directed t,o cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated work, at not more than three hundred (300) feet in distance apart, and not less than three (~) in all, notices of the passage of this resolution of intention. Said superintendent of streets is likewise directed to cause a notice, similar in substance, to be published by four (&) insertions in "The Enterprise", a we weekly newspaper printed and circulated in said City of South San Francisco, which newspaper f's hereby designated by said City Council as the newspaper in which said superintendent of streets' notice of the pa~sa~e of this resolution shall be published. I hereby certif~ that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South SanFrancisco, this 9th day of July, 19~7, by the following vote: ' Ayes, Councilmen G.
