STATION BOND ISSUE) !.~qEREAS. the central fire department station, now housed in the City Hall building of the Gity of South San Francisco, is, by reason of the increase of population of said city and the consequent need for fire department services, inadequate to meet the requirements of said city at the present time; ~nd ~{EREAS, at a special election held in said City of South San Francisco, on the 31st day of August 1945, the qualified electors of said City of South San Francisco authorized the incurring of a bonded indebtedness of Ninety-Five Thousand Dollars ($95,000.00) for the object and purpose of acquiring, constructing and completing by the City of South San Francisco, a municipal corporation, a central fire department station and acquiring the necessary furniture and equipment for the same; and WHEREAS bonds of said City of South San Francisco in said amount were actually issued; and ~WLEREAS, by reason of the regulations of the Government of the United States of~merica, it became ~impossible to procure all the materials necessary for the construction of such central fire department station, and said central fire department station has not been constructed; and ~qEREAS the population of said City of South San Francisco has, since the 31st day of August, 19_&5,. incresed by at least forty (40) p~rcent and a fire department substation, to be located in the portion of saidCity of ~outh San Francisco west of E1 Camino Real is, in the opinion of the City Council, necessary for the protection of said city, and the acquisition of an aerial service truck with equipment for the same and a new pumping engine with equipment for the same are necessary for the protection of life and property in said City of South San Francisco; and ~i'~EREAS said sum of Ninety-Five Thousand Dollars ($95,000.00) is insufficient to pay for the acquisition, construction, and completion of said central fire department station and the acquisition of the land for such station and the acquisition of the necessary furniture and equipment for the same, and for the acq~isitton,cconstruction and completion of such substation and the acquisition of the land for such substation and the acquisition of the necessary furniture and equipment for such substation and for the acquisition of such aerial service truck and the equipment for the same, and the acquisition of a pumping engine and the equi~oment for the same; .~F~OLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said City Council does hereby determine that public interest and necessity demand the acquisition, construction and completion by said City of South San Frencisco, a municipal corporation, of the following municipal improvement, to wit: a central fire department station in said City and a fire department sub-station west of E1 Camino Real in said city, together with lands, buildings, furniture and equipment therefor, an aerial service truck, a pumpin~ engine and other fire fighting equipment, works, property, structures and equipment for fire protection purposes of said City of Jouth ~an Francisco; RESOLVED, further, that the acquisition, construction and completion of said municipal improvement are necessary and convenient to carry., out the objects, purposee and p~wers of said city; and RESOLVED, further, that cost of acquisition, construction and completion of said municipal improvement is T~O HUNDRED EIGHTY-THOUSAND DOLLARS ($280,000.00) and the amount of money which said City of South San Francisco needs for said municipal improvement, after deducting sa~id sum of Ninety-Five Thousand Dollars ($95,000.00) from said total of Two Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($280,000.00) to wit~ the sum of One Hundred Eighty-five Thousand Dollars ($185,OOO.OO), is and ~ill be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue of said city. o I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a regular m~eting .o.f the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, this 7th day of August, 19/,7~ by the followSng vote: Ayes, Councilmen G.
