HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1249-1947RESOLUTION # 12&9 RESOLUTION C (RECREATION BUILDINGS BOND ISSUE) '~EP~EAS the City of South San Francisco, a municipal corporation in the County of San ~ateo, State of California, has no recreation buildings u'hich are adequate to serve the purposes for recreation for children of all ages and some recreational activities for adults; and WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, such buildings, properly equipped, are essential to the welfare of said city and '~ill aid in the building in character of yout] of said city; and '~HE?~AS, at a special election held in said City of South San Francisco on the 31st day of Augu 19~5, the qualified electors of said City of South San Francisco authorized the incurring of a bonded indebted~ of Forty Thousand Dollars ($dO,O00.OO) for the object and purpose of acquisition, construction and completion by said City of South San Francisco of three (3) recreation buildings and the acquisition of the necessary furl and other equipment for such recreation b,~ilding~; and WHEREAS bonds of said City of South San Francisco in said amount were actually issued; and ?~EREAS, by reason of~regulations of the Government of the United States of America, it became impossible to procure all the materials necessary for the construction of such recreation buildings, and the recreation buildings, contemplated at said special election have not been constructed, and the additional sum Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00) is now necessary for the oomstruction of such recreation buildings; RESOLVED by said City Oounc~l tha~ said City Council does hereby detect,ina that public interest ~nd necessity demand the acGuisition, construction and completion by said City of South San Mrancisco, a munic corporation, of three (3) recreation buildings and the acquisition of the necessary furnit~re ~nd other equipm of the same are convenient and necessary to carry out~the objects, purposes and powers of said city; that the estLmated cost of said improvements and equipment of such buildings is Seventy Thousand Dollars ($70,000.00), the amoun~ of money which said City of South San Francisco needs for said purposes, a£ter deducting said sum o Seventy Thousand ~ollars ($70,000.00), is the sum of Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,O00.O0),~and that the siad s Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00) is, and ~ll be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income 'an revenue of said City of SouSh San Francisco, and will, in addition to the other expenditures of said City of S San Francisco, exceed the income and revenue of any one year. I hereby certify~that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a regular meeting the City Co~nucil of the City of South San Franc~ sco, this 7th day of August, 19~7, by the following vote: Ayes, Noes, Absent, Councilmen G. %~;.
