HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1261-1947SEAL RESOLUTION NO. 12~1 RESOLUTION ORDERING ~?ORK RESOLVED THAT, whereas the City Council of the City of South San Francisco did, on the 25th day of August, 1947, pass its resolution of intention No. 1255 to order the improvement work described in said resol- ution to be done in said city, which resolution of intention was duly and regularly published, as required by law, as appears from the affidavit of MYRA R. SPANGLER now on file in the office of the City Clerk Of said city; a~d ~REAS notice of the passage of said resolution of intention No. 1255 was duly and regularly posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement and in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor, and along all the open streets within the district in.said resolution of intention described, in the manner and form required by law, as appears from the affidavit of Henry L. ~chweining, superintendent of streets of said city, now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City; and ~A~EREAS the owners of the land described in said resolution of intention is the district to be benefited by said work and improvement have consented that said city .of South San Francisco may proceed with said work and improvement and to the designation of the land described in said resolution of intention as the district to be benefited by such improvement; and WHEREAS no protest or objection against said work has been received by said City Clerk or by said City Council at any time; NO~, THEREFORE, RESOLVED that public interest and convenience require the improvement work,~'described in said reso~lution of intention be done and said City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby orders said work to be done. Monthly rates are to be equal to the above based on a 176-hour working month. Any classification omitted herein shall be not less than $1.25 per hour. The following are to be considered holidays: New Year's .Day, Decoration Day,-Independence Day, Labor Day, Admission Day, Thinksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Saturdays and Sunda~s. '~ The successful bidder for the work hereinbefore mentioned will be required to file with the City Clerk a good and sufficient bond in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), conditioned to indemnify said city against any loss or damage which said city may sustain by reason of any injury which such successful bidder, as contractor, may cause to any pavement in either of the subdivisions in said city known as Brentwood subdivision No. i and Brentwood Subdivision No. 2. The notice inviting sealed proposals to be published and posted by the City Clerk shall contain ~ provision requiring such bond. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice o~ said work, together with the plans and specifications, on or near the Council Chamber door, inviting sealed ~proposals for doing the work ordered. He is also directed to publish~a notice inviting sealed proposals and referring to the specifications posted or on file, by two (2) insertions in "The Enterprise", a weekly newspaper published and circulated ~.n said City of South San Francisco ao~ hereby designated for that purpose. I hereby certify ~hat the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the ~ity Council of the City of South San Francisco, this 25th day of September, 19&7, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen G.
