. EE~OL~ED by the City ~ouncil of the City of South San FranciscQ that SeCtion ~ of Rule IVa of
the ~Estab~ished Personnel Rules andRegulations of the City of South San Francisco" ~e, and the same hereby
is a~ended so that said section &, as amended, shall read as follows:
Section 2. No person shal~ be eiigible for appointment in the competitive service as a sergeant
of police who has not served as a patrolman in the police department of the City of South San Francisco continu-
eusly for aFperiod of five (5) years immediately prior to appointment. No person shall be eligible for appoint-
ment in the competitive service as a captain 9f police who has not attained the rank of sergeaat of police in
the police department of the City of South San Francisco..

Council of the City of South San Francisco, this 15th day of March 19~, by the following vote:
