A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
PROVIDING FOR INVESTIGATION AND REPORT ON PROPOSED IMPRO~T OF
DOLLAR AVENUE, TANFORAN AVENUE AND HUNTINGTON AVENUE EAST.
~WHEREAS public interest and convenience require that the work and improvements hereinafter
described should be done; and
~LEAS, in the opinion of the City Council of the City of South Sen Francisco, said contemplated
work and improvement is, and is hereby declared to be of more than local or or~.namy public benefit; and
WHEREAS, on the 19th day of January, 19A8, said City Council adopted a resolution proposing to
cause the work and improvements hereinafter mentioned to be done in said City.
AND ~EREAS the City Clerk of said City, pursuant to the direction contained in said resolution
mailed prepaid post cards giving notice of the findings of said City Council in said resolution and of its
proposed action, to-each person to whom land in the proposed assessment district as hereinafter described, is
assessed on the last equalized county assessment roll and at his residence as show~ upon said roll, in the manner
and form required by the provisions of that said act of the Legislature of the State of California known as the
"Special Assessment Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931"; and
~EREAS owners of more than fifteen (15) per cent of the area of said proposed assessment district
have demanded the proceeding and investigation provided for in said Act; and
WHEREAS an estimate of the cost and expense of said work has been filed with the City Clerk of said
City;
NOW THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said City
Council proposes to order the following work and improvements to be done in said City, to-wit:
Grading for pavements; donstructing concrete curbs and gutters; constructing concrete sidewalks,
five (5) feet wide on the West side of Dollar Avenue, and on the north and south side of Tanfora~ Avenue and
on the East side of Huntington Avenue East; constructing five (5) inch crusher rock base with two and one-half
(2~) inch asphaltic ~oncrete surface, forty (kO) feet wide on Dollar Avenue; constructing five (5~') inch crusher
rock base with t~o and one-half (2~) inch asphaltic concrete surface course, thirty-seven (37) feet wide on
Tanforan Avenue; constructing five (5) inch crusher rock base with two and one-half (2~) inch asphaltic concrete
surface course, twenty-one (21) feet wide on Huntington Avenue East; and constructing catch-basins and storm
sewers on Dollar Avenue.
Ail the work herein provided for shall be done in accordance with the plans, profiles and speci-
fications for said work, and at the location and to the grade shown upo.n the plans, which plans, profiles and
specifications ~ere heretofore adopted by said City Council for said work and are now on file in the office of
the City Clerk am~ are open to public inspection.
Reference is hereby made to said plans, profiles and specifications for a full description of
said work and fdr the location and the extent of the work to be done hereunder and for the grades to which said
work is to be done, and for a particular description of the~boundaries of the district herein mentioned.
Said City Council does hereby determine and declare that said proposed work and improvement is of
more than local ior ordinary public benefit, and will affect and benefit the lands and district hereinafter
described, which district is hereby declared.~to be the district benefited by said work and improvement and pro-
poses that, therefore, the entire cost and expense of said work and improvement shall be made chargeable against
and shall be assessed upon said lands and district, except as hereinafter expressly provided, which district
is within the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, and particularly described
as follows, to-wit;
COM~ENCING at the most northerly corner of the property now o~ formerly owned by Heintz and
Kaufman, Ltd., as said property is delineated on the Official Map of the City of South San Francisco; thence
along the northwesterly boundary of said property now or fomerly omned by Heintz and Kaufman, Ltd., south 65°
20' A2" west 5A~.6A feet; thence north 69° 39' 18" west A2.A3 feet; thence north 2A° 39' 18" west 20~i10 feet;
thence on the arc of a curve to the right of radius 310.91 feet a distance of 236.35 feet; thence south 37° 00'
OO" west 6lA.A3 feet; thence on the arc of a curve to the left of radius A67.68 feet a distance of 252.29 feet;
thence south 65° 20' ~2" west 120.00 feet; thence south 2A° 39' 1~" east 25.00 feet; thence north 65° 20' A2"
east 100.00 feet; thence south 2A° 39' 18" east 75.00 feet; thence north 65° 20' A2" east 800.00 feet; thence

saving, excepting and excluding from s~id district all public streets, avenues and alleys, courts, and places
included and contained.
$~td City Council hereby declares that no portion of the cost of said improvements shall be paid
from any source other than special assessments upon the district of land hereinbefore described.
264 Said City Council hereby determines that the proceedings for said improvement work shall be taken
under the "Improvement Act of 1911" and that said City Council proposes to cause serial bonds to be issued to
represent unpaid assessments and to bear interest at the rate of five (5) per cent per annum, in the manner provided
by Division 10 of the Streets and Highways Code, in the Improvement Bond Act of 1915 and that the last installment
of such bonds shall mature fourteen ~l&) years from the second day of July next succegding ten (10) months from their

The V~orks Engineer of said city is hereby requested to procure the information required by said Assess-
ment Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931, with respect to said district and to prepare a
written report upon said project, all as provided and required by said last hentioned act and present such report to
said City Council.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council
of the City of South San Francisco this 5th day of April, 19~8, by the following vote~
