HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1338-1948 · RESOLUTION NO. 1338 A RESOLUTION AWARDING ~E CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRICTION OF-A RECREATION ~. BUILDING IN THE CITY OF SOT~ SAN FRANCISCO, SAID BUILDING. BEING KNOWN AS THE "HILLSIDE RECREATION BUILDING". WHEREAS the City Council of %he City of South San Francisco did, on the 5th day of Apri4 19&8, publicl~, open, examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for the construction of three recreation buildings in saic City in the places shown upon the plans for said work; C · RESOLVED that said City ouncll hereby rejects all proposals or bids ,submitted by any other person, persons or corporation, except the bid submitted by Monson Bros., and hereby awards the contract for the constru of said Hillside Recreation Building to the lowest resoonsible bidder for said Hillside Recreation Building, to- Monson Bros., on the terms herein provided and at the price named in the bid'..of said Monson Br°s., which price includes both alternates specified in said bid, to-wit: Twenty-Four Thousand Thirty-six and No/lOO Dollars ($2&,O36.OO). ~aid recreatiqn building shall be constructed upon the land hereinafter described. This award is made upon the agreement between said Nonson Bros. and said City to provide as follows: Said City of South San ~rancisco agrees to lease to said Monson Bros. for the term of five ~5) years ~our (&) months from the 1st day of May, 19~8, the land hereinafter described, at the total-,~ent or sum of rent Sixty-Five and No/lO0 Dollars ($65.00), for said entire term, payable monthly in advance in installments of One and No/1OO Dollar ($1.00) each on the first day of each and every month, commencing on the first day of May, 19~ Said ~onson Bros. shall by an instrument in w~iting, lease such recreation 5uitding, to~ether with th. land on which the same is located, ~to the City of South San Francisco upon terms and conditions as follows: th term of such lease to said City of South San Francisco shall commence on the 31st day of August, 19&8, and shal continue for five (5) years thereafter. Said City of South San Francisco shall pay as rent '?for said building of money as follows: Two Thousand Six Hundred Fifty-Five and No/lOO Dollars ($2655.00) on ~he 31st da of Au y gu 19&9; Four Thousand and No/lO0 Dollars ($&OO0.O0) on the 31st day of August, 1950; Four Thousand and No/lO0 Dol ($&O?O.OO) on the 31st day of August, 1951; Four Thousand and No/lO0 Dollars ($~,000.00) on the 31st day of Au8 1952, Four Thousand and No/l$O Dollars ($&,O00.O0) on the 31st day of August, 1953; Said City of South San Frar shall pay to said ~onson Bros., interest at the rate of five per cent (5%) per annum, commencing on the 31st of August, 19&8, on all installments of said rent which have not been paid on the 31st day of August 19&8, suc? interest to be calculated upon the decreasing amounts of said rent from year to year. Said City of South San Francisco shall have the option and privilege of purchasing said recreation b~ lng for the sum of One Thousand Three Hundred Eighty-One and No/lO0 Dollars ($1881.OO) upon giving notice to s~ Nonson Bros., at any time within the term of such lease to said City, of the election of said City to exercise option. The land hereinbefore mentioned is all that certain lot or parcel of land situate in the City of Sou' Francisco, Count~of San Mateo, and described as follows: COMMENCING at a point in the southwesterly line of Mills~de Boulevard which point bears north 26° 39 West 16.6& feet, South 63° 21' West 79 feet and south 26° 39' ~ast 16.~lOfeet, ~rom't~.~ most westerly corner o lot twenty (20), Block One (1) as said lot and block is delineated on that certain map, entitled Subdivision 276 of Paradise Valley, South San Francisco, San Mateo County,.California, recorded March 20, 19dO, in Volume 22 of Naps at page kO San Mateo County Records; thence from said point of commencement and continuing along said South- westerly line of Hillside Boulevard, South 26° 39a' East 100 feet; thence South 58° dS' 18" West 90 feet; thence north 25° 39' West 100 feet; thence north 58° dS' 18" East 90 feet to the point of commencement. I hereby certif~ that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San ~rancisco this 27th day of April, 19d8, by the following vote: Ayes, ~ouncilmen Victor Boido, Chas.
