HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1359-1948RESOLUTION NO. 1359 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO REQUESTING TWENTY-FOYeR AMBULANCE SERVICE AND AN ~ERGENCY HOSPITAL IN THE NORTHERN PORTION OF SAN MATEO COUNTY. ~HEREAS, for a number of years, the population in the northern portion of San Mateo County has greatly increased and, with this increase of population, there has been a great and continuing increase in auto- mobile and other accidents; and ~'~tERE~ no hospital in this part of 8an Mateo Counby has been able to furnish the ambulance service required to care for persons, who have been involved in such accidents, or who require ambulance services for other reasens; and WHEREAS no privately owned hospital in this part of San Msteo County is capable of caring for the large number of persons, who require emergency hospital service; THEREFORE,,RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the Board of Supervisors be, and it is hereby requested to provide twenty-four hour ambulance service for the northern part of San Mateo County and also to establish an emergency hospital at some convenient location in the northern portion of this county. The City. Clerk is hereby directed to send a copy of this resolution to each of the following: Frederick Petersen, the County Executive, William H. Augustus, County Clerk, Dr. Harold D. Chope, The Director of Health and Welfare of San Mateo County. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was re$~larly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 6th day of July, 19A8, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen: Victor Boido, Chas.
