'~EREAS the Planning Commission of the City of South ~an Francisco did, on the 9th day of
February, 1949, adopt a resolution in which said planning commission expressed its desire to initiate an
amendment to Ordinance No. 269, the zoning ordinance of the City of South San Francisco and, in said resolution,
proposed to amend Section ll of said Ordinance No. 269,. so that subsection (a) be amended by adding paragraph
5 as follows:
Outdoor advertising signs and structures when appurtenant to any use permitted in the
district, provided, however, that in case where such sign or structure projects into
any yard or street right of way and is over eight (8) square feet in area, a use
permit shall first be secured. Other outdoor advertising signs and structures subject
to the use of a use permit in each case;
and
WHEREAS, in said resolution, said planning commission proposes to amend Section 12 of said
ordinance, so that said subsection (a) be amended by adding paragraph ~ as follows:
Outdoor advertising signs and structures when appurtenant' to any use permitted in the
district, provided, however, that in any case where such sign or structure projects
into any yard or street right of way and is over eight (8) square feet in area, a use
permit shall first be secured. Other outdoor advertising signs and structures subject
to the securing of a use permit in each case.
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the Planning Commission of
said §ity of South San.Francisco be, and it is hereby directed to hold such public hearings with respect to said
proposed amendments as are required by law, and to fix the time and place of such hearings and to give notice
thereof as provided in said Ordinance No. 269.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco, this 7th day of March, 1949, by the following vote:
Ayes, Councilmen Victor Boido, Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi.
Noes, Councilmen None
