A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON CHESTNUT AVENUE BE~EEN COM-
MERCIAL AVENUE AND EL CAMINO REAL.
..~F~F~2 the City Council of the City of South San Francisco did, in open session, duly open, examine
~d declare all proposals or bids for the construction of the following improvements on Chestnut Avenue between
Commercia/ Avenue and El .Cam~no Real:
Grading and the construction of pavement having a six (6) inch crusher run base and a two
and one-half (2~ inch asphaltic concrete wearing surface; the construction of an asphaltic
concrete sidewalk on the one side of said Chestnut Avenue; widening the bridge over Colma
Creek; the construction of drainage facilities and the performance of appurtenant work.
RESOLVED by said city council that said city council hereby rejects all said bids or proposals, except
that next hereinafter mentioned and hereby awards the contract for doing said work to L. C. Smith Co., the lowest
responsible bidder, at the prices named in it~ bid, to-wit:

Paving, 265 per square foot
Alteration of Culvert over Colma Creek - $182.00
Earth fill between Mission Road and E1 Camino Real - $1.~5 per cubic 2ard
Redwood Intakes - $68.00 each
Sidewalk- 155 per square foot
Pedestrial Foot Bridge - $5.75 per lineal foot.
Monuments - $30.00 each
Concrete Pipe -$2~65 per lineal foot
This~-award is made subject to the approval of the Division of Highways.
The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed, in behalf of said city, to execute th
contract hereby awarded, provided that this award shall have been approved by the Division of Highways.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Counc~
of the City of South San Francisco this 21st day of March, 19~9, by the following vote:
Ayes, Councilmen Victor Boido~ Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi.
