HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1429-1949RESOLUTION NO. 1~29 WHEREAS the sewer pipe and the bottom of the manhole at Magnolia Avenue and Railroad Avenue in the City of South San Francisco are broken and undermined, and sewage is now running o~tside of said sewer pipe and along the existing sewer pipe and threatens to undermine more sewer pipe and, if repairs are mot promptly made, a depression in the pavement may result from the undermining of the land about said sewer pipe and the safety of persons and property may be endangered; and WHERFAS the present condition of said sewer and of said manhole may endanger the public health; and %~1~ in the opinion of the city council, the emergency resulting from the condition of said sewer pipe and manhole require immediate repairs for the pdrpose of safeguarding public health; RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of SouthSan Francisco that said city council declares aad determines that public interest and necessity demand the ~mmediate expenditure of money sufficient to repair sa~d sewer and saidmanhole. The works engineer of said city is hereby directed to build a new manhole at said location and to connect such new manhole with the existing sewer lines to replace ~he damaged manhole and to reconstruct 176 feet of 18" vitrified clay sewer pipe at said location, and also replace such pavement, curb and gutter as may become damaged in the construction work herein authorized. I hereby certif~ that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 29th day of March, 19&9, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Victor Boido, Chas.
