RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said city council request~
the Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, State of California, to open the Bayshore Highway to
southbound traffic where it is now closed, north of the City of South San Francisco.
This request is made fOrlthe following reasons:
1. M~ny hundreds of people residing in San Francisco and Brisbane and having business to transact
in South San Francisco are tunnecessarily inconvenienced by being required to leave the Freeway at Linden Avenue
or Grand Avenue, in order t6 enter South San Francisco;
2. It will be to the advantage of those, who use the Freeway to travel to the points beyond
Bouth San Francisco, if traffic destined for South San Francisco may leave the Freeway at its intersectionwith the
Bayshore Highway, rather than to enter South San Francisco by a righthand turn at Linden Avenue or Grand Avenue;
3. Many Persons engaged in bdsiness along the portion of the Bayshore Highway commencing at the
former junction of that highway with the Freeway now ~hffer loss by reason of the fact that southbound traffic
from San Francisco and Brisbane is not permitted to enter South San Francisco at the former Junction of the
Freew~ywith Bay~hore Highway;
A. Portion of the Bayshore Highway extending southerly from the former junction of the Bayshore
Highway with the Freeway from the north boundary line of South San Francisco Can be used for southbound traffic
only without creating a traffic hazard.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to send to the Division of Highways a copy of this resolution.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco on the 2nd day of May, 19A9, by the following vote:
Ayes, Councilmen Victor Boido, Eeo Ferko, Adolph Ssni, ~ilio Cortesi.
Noes, Councilmen None
Absent, Councilmen Chas. K. Elder
