A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CC~CIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION
FOR THE ANNEXATION OF THE UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY KNOWN A~
COt~RY CLUB PARK TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO.
. ~EREAS the City Council of the 6ity of South San Francisco has received a written petition, whicl
petition has been signed by more than one-fourth (1/&th) in number of the qualified electors residingin the
territory hereinafter described, as shown by the registration of voters of the County of San Mateo, State of
California, asking that the territory hereinafter described be annexed to said City of South San Francisco, a
municipal corporation, inthe County of San Mateo, State of California, anU that said city council take the steps
required by that certain act of the legislature of the State of California entitle~: "AN ACT TO P~OVIDE FOR
THE ALTEHATION OF TH~: BOUNDARIES OF AND FO~ THE ANN~ATION ~F T~TORY TO MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS, FOR ALL
INCORPORATION OF SUCH ANNEXED T~ltRITORY IN AND AS A PART THEREOF, AND FOR THE DISTRICTING, ~OVERNMENT AND
MUNICIPAL CONTROL OF SUCH ANNEXEC T~2~RITORY", Statutes of 1913, page 587, as amended, and to submit to the
electors residing within said territory the question whether such territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in
and made a part of said City of South San Francisco and to do all such other things as may be necessary under
sai~ act to effect the annexation of such territory to said City of South Oan Francisco.
The territory hereinbefore mentioned and referred to consists of all that certain tract of land
situate in the County of San Mateo, State of California, and contiguous to the boundary line ofsa~d City of So~
San Francisco, which land is described as follows;
BEGINNING at the southerly corner of Lot 18, Block C as shown on the map entitled "Map No. 1, Cow
Club Park", recorded in Book 23 of Maps at pages 5&, 55 and 56, San Mateo County ttecords; thence along the sout~
westerly boundary of said Country Club Park, North 31° 15' West 280 feet; thence South 58° &5' West 50 feet; thel
North 31° 15' West 330 feet; thence North 16° 02' East 530.81 feet; thence North 31° 15' West 320.81 feet to the
westerly corner of Lot 8, Block H, Country Club Park; thence along the northwesterly boundary line of said Countl
Club Park, North 58° &5' EaSt 330 feet; thence South 31° 15' East 60.90 feet; thence North 58° &5' East 890 feet
to point in the northwesterly line of Lot 2, Block F, Country Club Rark, which is also an angle point in the
corporate l~m~ts boundary of the City of South San Francisco; thence along said Corporate Limits boundary, North
31o 15' West &20.17 feet; thence South 60° 30' west 298.75 feet; thence South 75° 00' West 150 feet; thence Soutl
59° 00' West 220.00 feet; thence South 85o 20' West 63 feet; thence South 53° 00' ~est 100 feet; thence South 31~
57' ~est 192.9~ feet; thence North 85° 58' West 182.93 feet; thence South 77° 52' 30" West 180.63 feet; thence
North 31° 15' West 27~.10 feet to.a point on the southeasterly boundary line of the lands of the California Golf
Club, said point also being an angle point in the said Corporate limits boundary~ thence North 55o 07' 30" East,
along said ~outheasterly boundary, line of the lands of the California Golf Club to the easterly corner of said
lands; thence continuing along the boundary of said lands of the California Golf. Club, North 39° 25' &5" West
770.97 feet and North 50° 00' 30".East 532.37 feet to a point in the southerly beundary of lot 248, as shown on
the map entitled "Southwood Map No. 3" recorded in Book 2J+ of Maps at page &O, San Mateo County records; thence
along the southerly boundary of said Southwood No. 3 easterly along a curve to t~e left with a radius of 1475 fe,
to a point in the southerly line of Lot 23& as shown on said map of Southwood No, 3, which point is the be~inninl
of a course bearing South 86° 58'.East; thence along the boundary of said Southweod No. 3, South 86° 58' East &2
feet; thence North 85° 56' 30~ East 63.50 feet; thence North 82° &9' 10" East 15~ feet to the southeasterly corn.
of said Southwood No. 3, which point also lies in the westerly line of property ~elonging to the City andCounty
of San Francisco; thence along said easterly line of property belonging to the City and coUnty of San Francisco,
South 70 10' 50" West 20&.S& feet.to a point on the southwesterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of
Southwood Co~ercial Tract, as shown on the amp recorded in Book 25 of Maps at page &O, San Mateo County records
thence North 55° &2' 10" East along said southwesterly prolongation and southeasterly line of Southwood
Commercial Tract to a point in the southwesterly line of E1 Camino Real, which pbint is also the southeasterly
corner of said Southwood Commercial Tract; thence southeasterly along said southwesterly line of E1 Camino ~eal
to the easterly corner of the aforementioned Country Club Park; thence South 58°.&5' ~Nest 2825 feet to the point
of beginning. · ·
AND, ~HEREAS, notice o~intention to circulate a petition for the annexation of the unincorporated
territory hereinbefore described to the City of South SanFrancisco was published-in the South San Francisco
Journal, a weekly newspaper printed and published in said City of South San Francisco.
Said City Council hereby declares its intention to call a special election for the purpose of submitti
to the electors residing in the territory proposed by said petition to be annexed to said city the question
whether said territory shall be a~nexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of said Oity of South San Francisco
The territory hereinbefore described is hereby designated as "COUNTRY gLUB PARK".
Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the 15th day of August,19&9, at-the hour of 8 o'clock p.m., in
the Council Ch-mber of the City Hall of said City of South San Francisco, in the. City of South San Francisco,
County of San Mateo, State of California, any person owning real property within, said territory proposed to be
annexed, hereinbefore described, and ~a~ing any objection to the proposed annexation, may appear before said cit
council and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed.
Any protest against the.proposed annexation must be in~¥writing and shall state the name or names of th
owner or owners of the property affected thereby and the location and area of such property in general terms.
The city clerk is hereby directed to cause a copy of this resolution te be published by three (3)
insertions in The South San Francisco Journal, a weekly newspaper of general cireulatiom, published in said cit2
of South San Francisco, there beimg no newspaper of general circulation published.in said territory proposed to
annexed. . ·
I hereby certify that t~e foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Counci
of the City of South San Francisco, this 25th day of July, 19~9, by the following vote:
