HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1487-1949P~SOL~ION O~NG NOP~ RESOLVED that, whereas the City Counci~ of the City of South San Francisco, did on the 16th day of August, 19&9, pass its Resolution of Intention No. 1484 to order the i~provement work described in said resolution to be done in said city, which ~solution of intention was duly and regularly published, as required by law, as appears from the affidavit of Myra R. Spangler now on file in the office of the city clerk of said city; and WfiEREAS notice of the passage of said resolution of intent, ion was duly sad regularly posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement, and in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor~ and along all the open streets within the district in said resolution of intention described, in the manner and form required by law, as appears from the affidavit of Henr~ L. Schweining, superintendent of streets of said city, now on file in the office of the city clerk of ~id city~ and ~ERE~ no protest or objection against said work has been received by said city clerk or by said city council at any tiaa; NOW, THEREFORE, resoZved that public interest and convenience require the improvement work hereinafter described to be done. Said work consists of the improvement of Linden Avenue between the southerly boundary line of Railroad Avenue and the southerly termination of Linden Avenue. Said City Council of the 6ity of South San Francisco hereby orders said work to be done. All the work hereim provided for shall be done in accordance with the special plans, profiles, and specifications for said work, and at the location, within said City of South San Francisco, and to the grade shown upon said plans, which plans, profiles and specifications are now on file in the office of the city clerk. ~aid city council hereby ascertains that the general prevailing rates of per diem wages and the general prevailing rates of per diem wages and the generalprevailing rates for legal holiday and overtime work applicable to said work to be done ar~ as follows: CLASSIFICATION HOURLY WAGE RATE Carpenter Asphalt Plant Engineer Cement Finisher Box men or mixer box operator (Concrete or asphalt plant) Compressor Concrete Mixers (over one yard) Fireman in Hot Plant Mechanical Finishers (Concrete or asphalt) (Airports, highway or street work)' Pavement breakers, Erasco Type Power shovels and/or other excavating equipment with shovel-type controls, up to and including one yard LeRournau pulls (Jeeps, Terra Corbras, LaPlant Choate, and similar types of equipment) Rollers Screen ~n Spreader ~Machines (Barber Green, Jeager, etc.) (Engineer and screen man used in operation Tractors Tractor-type shovel loader (scale not to apply when used as blade or bulldozer) GROUP NO. ~ Header Board, Cribber, Lagging Blasters-Powdermea Drillers, High Scalers, Sand Blasters, Wagon Drills, Jackhammer pipe layers, Banders G~OUP NO. 3 General Laboeers, landscape laborers and gardeners, Bridge laborers, construction laborers, all clean up work of debris, grounds and buildings, watchman, flagmen, guards, wrecking laborers, maintenance and repair trackmen, street car and railroad construction laborers, asphalt shovelers, concrete laborers, (wet or dry) PLUMBERS Plumbers, Steamfitters, Welders, Caulkers, Pipe fitting of all description (December 23rd) Bricklayer - 2 times regular rate Laborers - 1~ times resular rate except Satumday, Sunday Material Teamsters - lltimes regular rate Holidays - 2 times regular rate 2.16 2.225 2.15 1.925 1.875 2.175 1.875 2.225 2.275 2.525 2.375 2.225 2.275 2.225 2.225 2.375 1.77~ ' 1.52~ 2.50 The rate for any classification not shown above shall be the established union rate for San Mateo County California. The following are to be considered as holidays: New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, La~or Day, Admission Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Saturdays and Sundays. The suc6essful bidder for the work hereinbefore mentioned will be required to file with the city clerk a good and sufficient bond in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), conditioned to indemnify said city against loss or damage which said city may sustain by reason of any injury which such successful bidder, as contractor, may cause to any pavement in said city~' in connection with the performance of the work mentioned in said resolution of intention. The city clerk is hereby directed to post a notice of said work, together with the plans and specifications near the council chamber door, inviting sealed proposals for doing the work ordered, and is also directed to publish a notice inviting sealed proposals and referring the plans and sepcifications posted or on file, by two insertions in The So-th San Francisco Journal, a meekly newspaper published and circulated in the City of South San Francisco and hereby designated for that purpose. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Bouncil of the City of South San Francisco this 7th day of September, 1919, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Victor Boido, Chas.
