A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY cOUNcIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO NOTIFYING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY
OF SAN MATEO THAT SAID CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO NO LONG-
ER DESIRES TO. BE A PART OF THE COUNTY FREE LIBRARY SYSTW~
OF THE COtHITY OF SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA.
~EREAS on the 3rd day of January, 1950, the City Co~mcil of the City of South San Francisco adopted
a certain resolution, in which said city council stated that it contemplates a withdrawal of the City of South
San Francisco from the County Free Libr~ry System of the County oS San Mateo, State of California and, in said
resolution, directed the city clerk to publish once a week, for two successive weeks prior to the 23rd day of
January, 1950, in the South San Francisco Journal, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in
the City of Sout~ San Francisco, a notice in substantially the following form.
"NOTICE OF CONT~PLATED WITHDRAWAL OF. THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO FRON THE COI~TY FRE~ LIBRARY SYSTEM OF THE COUntY
OF S;J~ MATEO."
"Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco contemplates with-
drawal of said city from the County Free Library System of the County of San Mateo, State of California, and
that said city council contemplates giving notice to the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo of the
desire of said city counGil to withdraw from said free library system.
"Notice is further hereby given that, on Monday, the 23rd day of January, 1950, at the hour of 7:30
o'clock p.m., in the couocil chamber in the city hall of said city, in the City of South San Francisco, County
of San Mateo, State of C$1ifornia, said city council will hold a meeting at which the contemplated action is
proposed to be taken.. At said meeting all objections to the withdrawal of ssid city from said county free
library system will be h~ard and considered.

AND, ~EREAS, said notice was p~lished in said SouthSan F5ancisco Jounal on the 6, 13th and'2Oth
of January, 1950; and
~.~HEREAS no per~on has protested or objected to the withdrawal of said City of South San Francisco
from said County Free Library System.
P~SOLVED by thC City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said city council hereby
determines and declares Shat said City of South San Francisco no longer desires to be a part of the County ~$ee
Library System of the County of San Mateo. The Board of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo is hereby
notified that said City of South San Francisco no longer desires to be a part of the County Free Library System
of the County of San Mateo.
The city clerk is hereby directed to deliver a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of
Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adooted by the C~ty
Council of the City of South San Francisco, this 23rd day of January, 1950, by the following vote:
Ayes, Councilmen Victor Boido, Chas. E!der% Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi.
Noes, Councilmen None
