RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE R~URNS OF THE SPECIAL EI~CTION
TO SUBMIT TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY CF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO THE PROPOSITION TO REDUCE THE WORKING HOU~S
OF CERTAIN OFFICERS AND ~$~PLOYEES 07 SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, on the 15th day of June, 1950, a special elect~on was heti in the
City of South San Francisco at which there wss submitted to the qualified electors of
said city the following proposition:
"Shall the working hours of firemen be reduced from
seventy-two (72) hours per week to sixty (60) hours
per week , with no reduction of compensate, on, and
the working hours ~of policemen be reduced from forty-
eight (~8) hours per week to forty (40) hours per
week with no reduction of compensation, and the work-
ing hoursof park, street, and miscellaneous employees
be reduced from forty-four (4~) hours per week to forty
(40) hours per week, with no reduction of compensation?"
and said election was held pursuant to the provisions of Resolution No. 1538 adopted
by the City Council of the City of South San Frmcis ~ on the 29th day o~ May, 1950;
Said city council now finds the number of voters voting in each of the pre-
cincts in said city hereLnafter mentioned, on said proposition, and the number of
votes cast for and against said proposition were as follows:

The total number of votes cast in favor of said proposition was thirteen
hundred and seventy-five (1375) and the total mnnber of votes cast against said
proposition was thirteen hundred and twelve (lg.l~); and
WHEREAS the majority of the votes cast on said proposition were in favor
of said proposition;
NG~ , THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that said proposition was approved by a majority of the voters voting
thereon at said special election.
I hereby certify that the foregoinj~ resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Frsncisco this 22nd day of
June, 1950, by the following vote:

Cortesi.
