HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1604-1950RESOLUTION NO. 160& A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFOP~NIA, T~RMINATING R~T CONTROL IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. WH~LEAS a petition to decontrol feints in the City of South San Francisco, California, has been filed in the office of the city clerk of said city and said petition recites facts sufficient to require the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, to calla public hearing to consider decontrolling rents; and WHEREAS notice of the date, time, place and purpose of sucn public hearing was pub- lished in the SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ~NT~PRISE-JOURNAL, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the City of South San Francisco, California, on the 16th day of November, 1950; and WH~P~EAS the City Council of said City of South San Francisco held a public hearing on said petition on the ~th day of December, 1950, at 8 o'clock p. m. in the council chamber in the city hall of said city, the same being the date, time and place for the purpose set forth in said notice, and further hearing on said petition was had by said city council on the llth day of December, 1950, at 8 o'clock p. m.; and ~EREAS, at said public hearings, all interested persons were given a reasonable op- portunity to be heard, with the right to be represented by counsel; and WHerEAS, at said hearing held on the llth day of December, 1950, said city council received information showing that there no longer exists such shortage in rental housing accommoda- tions as to require rent control in the City of South San Francisco, California; and WHEREAS said city council has duly considered all information presented with respect to said petition; NO~, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, hereby finds and resolves as follows: That there no longer exists in said City of South San Francisco such a shortage of rental housing accommodations as to require rent control in said city, and the decontrol of said city is hereby recommended and requested.
