RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco t hat public interest and convenience require the following improvement work to be done in said city: The construction of a multiple box culvert in Spruce Avenue at Colma Creek. All said work shall be 6one at the location shown upon the plans and speci- fications submitted this day by the works engineer of the City of South San Fran - cisco for said work, which plans and specifications are hereby adopted for said work. All said work shall be done and the materials used in connection therewith shall be furnished under the direction and to the satisfaction of the works en_ gineer of said city. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals or bids will be received by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco on ~onday, the 20th day of August, 1951, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m.., for doing the following improvement work in said city, to-wit: The construction of a multiple box culvert in Spruce Avenue at Co~hma Creek. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under hf~m, to pay not less than the specified, rates to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract. The contractor shall forfeit as a penalty to the City of South San Frsmcisco TEN DOLLARS ($10.00) for each laborer, workman or mechanic e~ployed, for each calendar da~f, or port.ion .thereof, such laborer, workman or mechanic is paid less than the said stipulated rates for any work done urn. der said contract, by him, or by any subcontractor u~der him. NOTICE IS FURTHER HEREBY GIVEN that no contractor or subcontractor or agent or representative thereof shall knowingly employ or cause or allow to be employed on the work herein provided for any alien, except in cases of extraordinary emergency caused by fire, flood or danger to life or property.
