HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1790-1952RESOLUTION NO. 1790 RESOLUTION DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE INVITING SEALED PHOPOSALS AND FIXI~G DJ~TE OF HEARING THEREON FOR IMPROVWI~NT OF THIRD LANE FROM ~JCALYPTUS AVE- NUE TO A POINT 58 FEET WEST OF LA[HtEL AVENUE. RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that '~EREAS the said city'council, on the 10th day of July, 1952, did adopt Resolution of-Intention No. 1785 to order the construction of storm drains, gutters, and pavement along Third Lane from Eucalyptus Avenue to a point 58 feet westerly from Laurel Avenue, and con- structinga storm drain in Laurel Avenue, reference to which resolution of intention is here- by made for further particulars; NOW, TMEREFORE, the city clerk of the city of South San Franoisco is hereby directed to publish, by two (2) successive insertions in the SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ENTERPRISE-JOURNAL,a weekly newspaper published and circulated in s~id City, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the construction of said improvements, and referring to the plsns and specifications on file in the office of said clerk, the ~rst of which publications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the time fixed for opening bids. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a certified check payable to the order of said city, amounting to ten(lO) per cent of the bid, or by a bond in said amount and pay- able to said city, signed by a corporate surety or by the bidder and two sureties who shall justify before any officer competent to administer an oath, in double said amount and over and above all statutory exemptions. Said check shall be forfeited or Said bond shall become payable to said city in case the lowest responsible bidder depositing the same does not, with- in the time spenified by law, enter into a contract with the works engineer of said city, the faithful performance of which shall be assured by an undertaking in the amount of fifty per cent (50%) of the amoun~ so bid, with sureties satisfactory to said city council and which shall be accompanied by a labor and materi~l bo~4 in a sum equal to fifty per cent(50%) of the amount of said bid, under ~he provisions of Title l, Division 5, Chapter 3 of the Govern- ment Code. Sealed bids or proposals will be received by the City Council of the City of Nill- brae at the office of the city clerk of said city, City Hall, Grand Ave~.~South San Francisco, California, or at the Council Ch~nbers of sai~ city at s~id location at anytime on or before 8:00 p.m. on Monday, the 18th day of August, 1952, said time being not less than ten (lO) days from the time of the first publication of said notice.
