HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1881-1953204 RESOLUTION OF I~"~TION NO. 1881 A RESOLUTION OF T~E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRAN- CISCO DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO DO CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROV~NENT WORK IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ON SECOND LANE FROM CHEST- NUT AVEIUE TO E~CALYPTUS AVENUE. ~HEREAS public interest and convenience require that the work and improvements hereinafter described should be done; and · WH'~REAS, in the opinion of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, said contemplated work and improvement is, and is hereby declared, to be of more than local or ordinary public benefit; and ~EREAS an estimate of the cost and expense of said work has been filed with the city clerk of said city; NOW, THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the City ~ounc~il of the City of South San Francisco that it is the intention of said City Council to order the following work and improvements to be done in said city, to-wit: Paving of Second Lane between Chestnut Avenue and Emcalyptus Avenue, including construction of storm drains, gutters, catchbasins, and manholes. Ail the work provided for shall be done inaccordance with the special plans, profiles, and specifications, for said work, and at the locations and to the grades shown upon said plans, which plans, profiles and specifi- cations were adopted by said City Council on the &th day of Nay, 1953, and are no~ on file in the office of the city clerk of said city. Reference is hereby made to said plans, profiles, and specifications for a full description of said work and for the location and the extent of the work to be done hereunder and for the grades at which said work is to be done, and for a particular description of the boundaries of the district herein mentioned. Said City Council does hereby determine and declare that said proposed Work and improvement is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and will affect and benefit the lands and district hereinafter described, which said district is hereby declared to be the district benefited by said work and improvement and that, therefore, the entire cost and expense of said work and improvement shall be, and hereby are, made chargeable against, and shall be assessed upon, said lands and district, except as hereinafter expressly provid~ which district is within the City of South San Francisco, County of San Narco, State of California, and particularly described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the northeasterly corner of Lot ~0, Block 79, as shown upon that certain map entitled "South San Francisco Plat No. 1" recor~wd in Volume 2 of Naps at Page 52, San Mateo County Californiarecords; thence South 7&° 27' East 30 feet to the center line of F~calyptus Avenue; thence along said center line South 15° 33' West 335 feet to the center line of Commercial Avenue; thence North 7&° 27' West 30 feet; t~ence North 15° ~' East 1~c fe-t. thence NOrth 7&° 27, West 120 feet; thence South 15v33, West 135 feet; thence North 7~~ 27' West 760 feet; thence North 15 33' East 135 ~eet; thence North ?~o 27' West 120 feet; thence South 15o 33' West 135 feet; thence North 7~ 27' West &O feet to the intersection of the center lines of Commercial Avenue and Chestnut Avenue; thence along the center line of Chestnut Avenue North 15° 33' East 235 feet; thence SoUth ?~o 27' East 160 feet ; thence North 15° 33' East 100 feet to the southerly line of Baden Avenue; thence along said southerly lirAe South 7~° 27' East 880 feet to the point of beginning. E~cepting all public streets, ~enues, thoroughfares, courts, lanes, and alleys included and contained in said distrtc~ Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to re~resent unpaid assessments, and to bear interest at the rate of five (5) percent per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by Division l0 of the Streets and Highways Code, in the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, and the last installment of such bonds shall mature fourteen (14) years from the 2nd day of July next succeeding ten (lC) months from their date, The ~outh San Francisco Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and pub- lished in said City of South San Frsacisco, is hereby designated as the newspaper iron,which this resolution of intention shall be published, md the city clerk is hereby directed to cause this resolution to be published by two (2) insertions in the manner and form required by law. Said city clerk is also directed to mail a notice of the adoption of said resolution of intention, postage prepaid, to all persons owning property which is proposed to be assessed te pay any p~rt of the cost of said work, whoee names and addresses appear on that last equalized assessment roll, or as known to said city clerk. The superintendent of streets shall cause tc be conspicuously posted along the line of said con- templated work or improvement, and not more than three hundred (3O0) feet in distance apart, but not less than three (3), and along all the open streets within said district at not more than three hundred (300) feet in distance apart on each said street, notices of the passage of this resolution of intention, in the manner and form required by the Improvement Act of 1911. Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the 1st day of June, 1953, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chamber of said City Council of the City of South San Francisco, any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work and improvements may appear before said City Council and show cause why said proposed work and improvement should not be carried out in accordance with this resolution. Except as hereinbefore provided, all of the herein proposed work shall be done pursuant to an act of tBe legislature of the State of California designated as "Improvement Act of 1911". I hereby certify that ~he foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, this &th day of May, 1953, by the following vote: AYES, Councilmen John Noonan, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi, Joseph Bracco, Telford Smith NOES, Councilmen None ABSENT, Councilmen None ATTEST: Arthur A.
