A R~OLTUION OF T~[E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO FOR THE EXECUTION OF AN
ACRFJ~{ENT BE~.fEEN S~ID CITY AND TUE SOUTH SAN
FRANCIS CO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT %fltEHEBY SAID
CITY AGRRF. q TO PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION FOR THE
AVALON SCHOOL.
~fHEREAS the South San Francisco Unified School District is the owner of
certain property known as the "Avalon School", which is located outside the
boundaries of the City of South San Francisco but which is immediately ad-
Jacent to sa~d city; and
~EAS said school district is without fire protection for said Avalon
School and where~s many of the children who attend said school reside in the
City of South San Francisco; and
WHE]{EAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisc° deems it for
the best interest and welfare of the people of the City of South San Francisco
that said children should be protested and that fires near the city boundaries
should be controlled and extinguished; and
~EREAS said school district is desirous of entering into a contract with
said City of South San Francisco whereby said City will agree to furnish necessary
fire protection to said Avalon School, provided, however, that said city is not
at the same time Jeopardizing any person or property lying within said city.
NO¥~, T~:~EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco does hereby determine that it is advisable to enter into a contract to
provide fire protection for said Avalon School. In this connection, the Mayor of
said City is hereby authorized to execute an a~reement to provide fire protection
for said School, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to affix thereto the cor-
porate seal of said city.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City C~Ancil of the City of'South San Francisco this 15th day of
June 1953 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen John Noonan, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi, Joseph Bracco, Telford Smith
NOES: Councilmen None
ABSENT: Councilmen None
