HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1923-1953RESOLUTION NO. 1923 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE~CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF HOLLY AVENUE, A PUBLIC STREET LYING WITHIN SAID CITY. RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, a municipal corporation in the County of San Mateo, State of California, as follows: Section 1. It is the intention of said city council to order the vacation and abandonment of the following designated portion of Holly Avenue, a public street lying within the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, particularly described as follows: Being a portion ofthat certain 50 foot road conveyed by F. R. Carton to the County of San Mateo dated and recorded May 19, 1887 in Book 42 of Deeds at page 195 of San Mateo County, more particuAarly described as followS: Beginning at a point on the northwesterly line of said 50 foot road said point being distant South 46° 52' 20" East a distance of 13.80 feet and North 40° 10' East a distance of 259.24 feet from the most easterly corner of Lot 8 Block 3 as shown on a map entitled "WES. TVIEW TERR_$CE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO SAN N~TEO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA", recorded at Map Book 36 at page 30 San Mateo County Records. Thence from said point of beginning ralong a said northwesterly line North 40° 10' East a distance of 633.62 feet to the northeasterly termination of said road; thence South 49° 44' ll" West a distance of 50 feet to the southeasterly line of said read; thence South 40° 10' West a distance of 921.10 feet to a point; thence northeasterly on the arc of a curve to the left, maid curve having a radius of 1040.00 feet, a central ang~ of 5° Ol' 42" and a center which bears North 55° 27_' 14" West from the last mentioned point, a distance of 91.27 feet; thence North 29° 31' 04" East a'distance of 200.70 feet to the noint of beginning, containing 0.882 acres. Section 2. Said city council hereby fixes Monday, the 21st day of September, 1953, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m., in the City Hall of said City of South San. Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of Ca~iEo~n~$, as the time and place fqr hearing all nersons interested in, or objecting to, the vacation of said portion of said public street. Section 3. Notices of the passage of this resolution of intention, giving the time and place of hearing bhereon, shall be conspicuously posted along the lines of said public streets for at least ten (lO) days prior to said hearing, and not more than three hundred (300) feet in distance apart, and not less than three (3) in all. Section 4. The action hereby taken by said City Council is in pursuance to that certain act of the Legislature of the State of California known as the "Street Vacation Act of 1941", the same being Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and Highways Code of the Share of California. Section 5. This resolution of intention shall be published by one (1) insertion in the South San Francisco Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the City of South San Francisco. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, this 25th day of August, 1953, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Adoloh Sani, Emilio Cortesi, Telford Smith Noes, Councilmen ~ohn Noonan Absent, Councilmen Joseph Bracce Attest: Arthur A.
