HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1933-1953RESOLUTION NO. 1933 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FR^NCISCO ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF HOLLY AVENUE, A PUBLIC STREET LYING WITHIN SAID CITY. WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco did, on the 25th day of August, 1953, adopt a resolution declaring its intention to order the vacation of a nortion of Holly Avenue, a public street lying within the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California~, and described as follows: - · Being a portion of that certain 50 foot road conveyed by F.R. ~ Carton to the County of San Mateo dated and recorded May 19, 1887 in Book ~2 of Deeds at page 195 of San Mateo County, more, part- icularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the north- westerly, line of said 50 foot ~road said point being distant South ~6° 52' 20" East a distance of 13.80 feet. and north ~+O°lO' East a distance of 259.2~ feet from the most easterly corner of Lot 8 Block 3 as shown on a map entitled' "WESTVIEW TERRACE SOUTH~ SAN FRANCISCO SAN MATEO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA", recorded at Map Book 36 at page 36 san Mateo County Records. -Thence from said' point of beginning alon~ a said northwesterly.line North ~0 10' East a distance of ~ 633.62 feet to the northeasterly termination of said road; thence South ~9o ~' ll" West a distance of. 50 feet.to the southeasterly line of said road; thence South ~O° 10' West a distance of 921.10 feet to a ooint; thence northeasterly on the~arc of a curve to the left~ said curve having a radius of lO~0.O0 feet, a central angle of 5° Ol' ~2" and a Cen~er which bears North 55° 27' l~" West from the last mentioned point, a distance of 91.27 feet; thenc~ North 29° 31' 0~" East a distance of 200.70 feetJ to the ooint of beginning, containing 0.882 acres. AND WHEREAS said resolution of intention was published and notice of ~the passage of said resolution of intention was posted in the manner and form re- quired by law, reference being hereby made ~to t'he affidavit of Ray Volkman and the affidavit of Hazel Taverner, which affidavits are now on file in the office o~ the city clerk of said city; AND WHEREAS a oublic hearing was held at an adjourned meeting in the City Hall of said City on the 28th day of September, 1953, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m.; and whereas all protests m~_ude again.st the closing of said portion of Holly Avenue have been overruled; and WHEREAS said City Council has determined, and does hereby determine that said public street is unnecessary for present or prospective oublic street purposes; NOW, THEREFORE, said City Council hereby orders that said public street be, and the same hereby is,.vacated and abandoned.
