A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO GRANTING TO
CALIFORNIA WATER SERVICE COMPANY, A PRIVATE
CORPORATION, PERMISSION TO USE A SUBSURFACE
EASEI~NT AREA FOR THE PURPOSE OF INSTALL-
ING ~ND MAINTAINING A WATER MAIN TO BE USED
FOR SUPPLYING I?~TATER TO THE AREAS KNO~ AS
"LINDENVILLE HOUSING PROJECT" AND "PALAU
VILLAGE HOUSING PROJECT" AND SURROUNDING AREAS
AS SAID COMPANY SHALL DECIDE.
~{ER~]AS the City of South San Francisco (in conjunction with the Housing
Authority of the City of South San Francisco, a public corporation) is the co-
grantee of a subsurfsc~ easement in, across, and through the certain property
owned by one WILLIAM W. LYONS: and
WHEREAS the California Water Service Company, a private corporation, is
presently usinE said subsurface easem~nt area for the purpose of providing water
to the areas known as "Lindenville Housing Project", and whereas said California
Water Service Company will continue, in the future, to require the use of said
subsurface easemer~t for the our~ose of supplying said areas with water; and
WHEREAS it will be in the best interest of the general public and, in particular,
that Dortion thereof residing within said areas that said California Water Service Com-
pany shall continue to use said subsurface easement,
NOW THEREFOtUE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of said city that said California
Water Service Company be, and it ~ereby is, granted a license or permit to make use
of sa.~.d subsurface easement for said Durpose for the t~ree-year period commencing with
the date on which the Lindenville Housing Project may be relinquished to said City of
South San Francisco in the event that such relinquishment should occur. Insofar as said
city is concerned, said California Water Service Company may, following said three-year
period, continue to use said subsurface easement for said purpose until such time as
said city shallgive to said company written notice to the contrary. ~
BE IT RESOLVED that the City Clerk of said city shall forward a certified copy of
this resolution to said California '~1ater Service Company, which shall constitute evidence
~f said license orper~mit.
