HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2019-1954RESOLUTION NO. 2019 A RESOLUTION OF THE.CITYiCOUN~~HE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO COMMENDING FIRE CHIEF A. J. WELTE AND ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING EFFORTS WHICH HAVE RESULTED IN A SUBSTANTIAL REDUCTION OF THE FIRE INSURANCE RATES FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. WHEREAS the PACIFIC FIRE RATING BUREAU has recently concluded a complete survey of the City of South'San Francisco with respect to the fire protection facilities of said City and, in particular, the manner of operation of its mun- icipal Fire Department; and WHEREAS said PACIFIC FIRE RATING BUREAU has, as a result of said survey, ac- corded to the City of South San Francisco a change from a class- ification to the higher, or better, classification of , which has produced a substantial lowering of the insurance rates for the property owners of said City and a consequent saving annually of considerable sums of money in insurance premiums; and WHEREAS said PACIFIC FIRE RATING BUREAU has attributed the improvement in class- ification mainly to the very high standards of operation and conduct achieved by Fire Chief A. J. WELTE and all the members of his department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Fran- cisco that, on behalf of the citizenry of said City and on its own behalf, it does here- by extend to Fire Chief A. J. WELTE and all the members of his department, its very high- est commendation of their conduct and operation of the South San Francisco Municipal Fire Department, which has resulted in an improvement in classification of said City from a fire insurance rating standpoint and consequent savings to the people of said City, as explained above. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and hereis, instructed to forward to Fire Chief A. J. WELTE a certified copy of this resolution together with certificates of merit for himself and all the members of his department. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regularly ad- journed meeting held on the 7th day of June, 1954, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen John Noonan,~Francis Lucchio, Telford Smith, Emilio Cortesi, George Bosworth.
