A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ORDERING REMOVAL OF
WEEDS, RUBBISH, REFUSE, AND DIRT FROM PARKWAYS,
PARCELS OF LAND, AND SIDEWALKS.
WHEREAS the. City Council of the City of South San Francisco did, on the 18th
day of May, 195~, adopt its Resolution No. 201~, in which said city council determined
that weeds which will attain such a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry
were growing upon the streets, parkways, sidewalks, and private property in said city,
and that rubbish, refuse, and dirt were present upon parkways, sidewalks, and private
property in said city, and declared that sa~d city, and declared that said weeds, rub-
bish, refuse, and dirt must be removed and that the-cost and expense of such removal
shall be assessed upon all lots of land in front of,'and upon which, such weeds, rub-
bish; refuse, and dirt exist, and, in said resoltion, fixed Monday, the 7th day of June,
195~ at the hour of 8 o'clock p~m., and the council chamber in the city hall of said
city, as the time and place when and'where all persons having any objections to the pro-
posed removal of said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt may appear before said city
council and show cause why the work of the proposed removal of weeds, rubbish, refuse,
and dirt should not be carried out; and
WHEREAS no person has protested or opposed the removal of said weeds, rubbish,
refuse, and dirt;
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the superinten-
~dent of streets abate the nuisance caused by said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt by
havinE them removed. Said superintendent of streets is hereby directed to keep an ac-
count of the cost and expense of abating the nuisance in front of, and upon,'each separate
lot or parcel of land where the work of removing said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt
may be done, and render an itemized report in writing to the city council, showing the
cost and expense of removing said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt. Before such report
is submitted to the city council, said superintendent of streets shall cause a copy there-
of to be posted on'or near the chamber door of said city council, together with a notice
of filing the same, and of the time and place when and where any persons interested in
the work of removal of said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt will be heard by said city
council, which copy of said report shall be so posted for not less than ten (10) days
prior to the time when said report may be submitted to said qity council.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced aud
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, this 7th day of June,
1954, by the following vote:
Ayes, Councilmen John Noonan, Francis Lucchio, Telford Smith, Emilio Cortesi, George
Bosworth.
Noes, Councilmen None.
Absent, Councilmen None.
