A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRA?~CISCO PROVIDING FOR THE E?[ECVTIO?iI OF AN AGREE-
MENT BET].~EN SAID CITY ~ND THE SOUTH SAN FR.~CISCO UNIFIED
SCHOOL DISTRICT ~?HEREBY S!'~'~ID CITY AGREES TO PROVIDE FIRE
PROTECTION FOR T~E AVALON SC]~00L.
W~[EREAS the South San Fr~cJ. sco Unified School District is the owner
of certain property kno~,.aa ~s the ~'Avalon School~, which is located outside
the boundaries of the City of South San Francisco but which is immediately
adjacent to said City; and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco deems it for
the best interest ~nd welfare of the people of the City of South San Francisco
tb~t said children should be protected and that fires near the city boundaries
should be controlled and extinguished; and
WHEREAS said school district is desirous of entering into a contract with
said City of South San Francisco whereby said City will agree to furnish necessary
fire protection to said Avalon School, provided, however, that said City is not
at the same time jeopardizing any person or property lying within said City~

NO,I, Ti~EREFORE, BE IT YfESOLVED that the City COuncil of the City of 'South
San Francisco does hereby determine that it is advisable to enter into a contract
to provide fire protection for said Avalon School until such time as either said
City or said school district shall termin~te' said contract by giving thirty (30)
days' advance written notice to the other. In this connection, the Mayor of
said City is hereby authorized to execute an agreement to provide such fire pro-
tection for said School upon. such terms, ~Tnd the City Clerk is hereby directed to
affix thereto the corporate seal of said City.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by t~e City Council of t~?e City of South San Fr:~cisco at a regular meet-
ing held this 2nd day of August~ 195~ by tile following vote:
Ayes, Councilmen John Noonan, Francis Lucchio, Emilio Cortesi, George Bosworth~
Telford Smith.
Noes~ Councilmen None.
