A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
PROVIDING FOR TEE EX~3JDT-ON OF AN AGBRF~{ENT BETWEEN SAID CITY AND
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO UNIFIED SC~DOL DISTRICT WI~REBY SAID CITY AGREES
TO PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION FOR SOUTEWOCO SCHOOL, A PUBLIC k~r~ENTARY
SCHOOL.
WHERFAS SOUTH SAN FRAI~ISCO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT is the owner, of certain prOPerty known as
"Southwood School", a public elementary school, which is located outside the boundaries of the City of 'South San
Francisco but i~nediately adjacent thereto; and
WHEREAS many of the children who attend said school are the children of citizens, residents and tax-
payers of the City of South San Francisco; and
~ the City Council of the City of South San Francisco deems it in the best interests and
welfare of the PEOPLE of the City of South San Francisco that said children and the facilities of said
Southwood School should be protected and that fires near the city boundaries should be controlled and ex-
tinquished; and
~ said South San Francisco Unified School District is desirous of entering into a contract with
said City of South San Francisco whereby said City will agree to furnish necessax-y fire protection to said
Southwoo~ School, provided, however, that said City shall not at the same time be jeopardizing any person or
property living or lying within said City,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does
hereby determine that it is advisable to enter into a contract to provide fire protection for said Southwood
School until such time as either said City or said South San Francisco Unified School District shall terminate
said contract by giving thirty (30) days' advance written notice to that effect. In this connection, the
Mayor of said City is hereby authorized to execute an agreement to provide such fire protection for said South-
wood School upon the foregoing terms, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to affix thereto the corporate seal
of said City.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the' City Council
of the City of Sou~h San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 21st day of February, 1955, by the following
vote: '
