HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2116-1955RESOLUTION NO. 2116 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO APPROVING THE PRC~OSAL OF THE PUBLIC HOUSING ADMINISTRATION, A FEDERAL AGENCY, WITH RESPECT TO THE REMOVAL OF TEMPORARY NOUSING STRUCTW/~ES FROM PALAU VILLAGE, A TEMPORARY NAVAL HOUSING PROJECT WI~NTSAID CITY WEEREAS the Public Housing Administration, a Federal agency, proposes to abandon, on or about the BOth day of June, 1955, that certain temporary naval housing project commonly known as Palau Village, situate iu the City of South San Francisco, which is designated as CAL-4033N, and which comprises one hundred and fifty-two (152) residential units, three (B) laundry units, and one (1).administration building; and ~REAS said Public Housing Administration has requested the recommendation of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, with respect to the manner in which the units of said temporary naval housing project may be disposed of; and WMEREAS the Health, Fire, and Building Departments of said City have thoroughly investigated and examined said units and have found them to be of such Construction and in such condition as to. be substandard for permanent living, or residential, purposes and unsatisfactory for any other uses, insofar as concerns the applicable standards of said City and of the State of California, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESGLVEDby the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said City Council of the City of South San Francisco ~'.~ ~ '~ does hereby find and determine that the afore- mentioned units of said temporary uaval housing project are substandard for permanent living, or residential, purposes and are unsatisfactory for any other permanent uses, insofar as concerns the applicable lawa and regu- lations of said City and of the State of California, and that.therefore all said units upon abandonment of said temporary housing project, should be removed from the confines of said City either intact or in parts, as said Public Housing Administration shal~, iu its discretion, determine. BE IT ~ RESOLVED that, in conformance to the foregoing findings and determination, aaid City Council does hereby approve the proposal of said Public Housing.Administration to dispose of the temporary housing and other structures situate in said Palau Village by removing the s~me in any feasible manner fro~ the confines of the City of South San Francisco. Further, the City Clerk is hereby instructed to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Public Housing Administration at its office situated at No. lB60 Mission Street, San Francisco B, California, and a like copy to the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of South San Francisco, at its office located at No. 200 Victory Avenue, in said C~ty of South San Francisco. I'hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular adjourned meeting held on the 28th day of February, o1955, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen: Andrew Rocca, Francis Luc~hio,'Emilio Cortesi, Richard Gamlen and Telford Smith.
