HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2146-1955RESOLUTION NO. 2146 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DECLARING WEEDS, RUBBISH, REFUSE, AND DIRT UPON PARCELS OF PRIVATE PROPERTY TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND FIXING TIME FOR PUBLIC HEARING. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of SoUth San Francisco as follows: Said City Council hereby determines that weeds which will attain such a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry are now growing upon private property in the City of South San Francisco, and also determines that there is rubbish, refuse, and dirt upon certain lots or parcels of private property in said city, and declares said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt to be a public nuisance, which must be abated by their removal. Otherwise, said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt will be removed and the nuisance abated by the city authorities, and the cost and expense of such removal shall be assessed upon all lots of land from which such weeds, rubbish, refuse, or dirt are removed, and such cost will constitute a lien upon such land until the same is paid. Said City Council hereby fixes Monday, the 23rd day of May 1955, at the hour of 4:30 o'clock P.M., and the Council Chamber in the City Hall of said city as the tin, and place when and where any and all persons having any objections to the proposed removal of such weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt may appear before said City Council and show cause why the work of said proposed removal of weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt shall not be carried out in accordance with th~s resolution. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause this resolution to be given two '(2) successive weekly publications in the local newspaper. Such publications shall be entitled "NOTICE TO DESTROY WEEDS AND REMOVE RUBBISH, REFUSE, AND DIRT", and such title or caption shall appear in bold print. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted at an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco held on the 9th day of May, 1955, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN Andrew Rocca, Emilio Cortesi, Richard Gamlen, FranciscLucchio, and Telford Smith.
