HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2149-1955418 RESO~,~TION NO. 2149 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE WIDENING AND RESURFACING OF THAT PORTION OF BADEN AVENUE LYING BETWEEN AIRPORT BOULEVARD AND LINDEN AVENUE IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. WHEREAS, by and with the prior consent and authority of the City Council of the City of Soath San~raac~soo, the D~rector of Public Works of said City did, on the 10th day of May, 1955, at the hour of 3:00 o'clock P.M., duly open, examine, and declare all sealed proposals for the widening and resurfacing of that portion of Baden Avenue lying between Airport Boulevard and Linden Avenue in the City of South San Francisco, in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore approved and adopted by said City Council, and which are now on file with the Clerk of said City, together with the furnishing of all necessary materials and labor in connection with said work of improvement; and WHEREAS said Director of Public Works has reported that the bid of LOWRIE PAVING COMPANY, a California corPoration, in the total amount of EIGHT THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY-EIGHT DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS ($8,858.50) is the lowest and best bid submitted for the performance of said work and has recommended to said City Council the acceptance thereof; and WHEREAS said City Council has examined all said bids and found the report of said Director of Public Works to be true and correct, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by said City Council that the report and recommendations of the Director of Public Works be accepted; that all said bids, except that next hereinafter mentioned, be, and the same hereby are, rejected; and that said City Council does hereby award the contract for said work to said LOWRIE PAVING COMPANY, a California corporation, at the price named in its bid. The Director of Public Works and the City Clerk are hereby instructed to execute, on behalf of said City, the contract for the performance of said work by said successful bidder. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held this 16th day of May, 1955, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN Andrew Rocca, Francis Lucchio, Emilio Cortesi, Richard Gamlen, and Telford Smith NOES: " None ABSENT: " None ATTEST: Arthur A.
