HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2161-1955RESOLUTION NO. 2161 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN CONTIGUOUS UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO SAID CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, SAID TERRITORY TO BE KNOWN AS "THE MCCAHON PROPERTY." WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco has received a written petition from DAVID McCAHON and DORIS McCAHON, his wife, to annex to said City of South San Francisco the uninhabited territory situate in the County of San Mateo, State of California, particularly described as follows: All that portion of Country Club Park as shown on map entitled '~TractNo. 53~Map No. 1 Country Club Park, San Mateo County, California, April 1941" filed im the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on May 9, 1941 in Book 23 of Maps at pages 54, 55 and 56, described as: BEGINNING at the most Westerly corner of Lot 1, Block "G" of the above described map; thence from said point of beginning on and along the Northwesterly line of said lot, North 58° 45' East 140.00 feet to the most Northerly corner thereof, said last mentioned corner being in the Southwesterly line of "C" Street, as shown on said map; thence along the line of "C" St. South 31° 15' East 101.12 feet; thence leaving said line, South 64° 47' 34" West 140.78 feet to a point in the Southwesterly line of'said Lot; thence leaving said line, North 31° 15' West 86.30 feet to the point of beginning, containing 0.301 acres. and, WHEREAS the territory hereinbefore described is in fact unihabited territory; and WHEREAS said City Council has found, and does hereby find, that said DAVID McCAHON and DORIS McCAHON, his wife, are the owners of more than one-fourth (5) of the area of the land herein- before described and represent more than one-fourth (3) of the assessed value of said land, according to the last equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo; and WHEHEAS the Boundary Commission of the County of San Mateo has certified to the definiteness and certainty of the boundaries of said property proposed to be annexed, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said City Council hereby designates the territory hereinbefore described as "The McCahon Property" for the purposes of identification. BE IT FURTHER:.RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that Monday, the llth day of July, 1955, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Countil Chambers of the City Hall in said City of South San Francisco be, and the same are, fixed as the time and place when and where any person or persons owning real property within the territory hereinbefore described, and so proposed to be annexed, and having any objection to the proposed annexation of said territory may appear before said City Council and Show cause why said territory should not be annexed. The City Clerk of said City shall cause a copy of this resolution to be published once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in the South San Francisco Enterprise-Journal, an newspaper of general circulation published in said City of South San Francisco, and likewise for two (2) consecutive weeks in the Advance-Star, a newspaper of general circulation published in the County of San Mateo, but elsewhere than in the City of South San Francisco, both of said publications to be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of the hearing provided for in the paragraph next above. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held this 6th day of June, 1955, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN Andrew Rocca, Francis Lucchio, Telford Smith, Emilio Cortesi, Richard Gamlen NOES: " None ABSENT: " ~one ATTEST: Arthur A.
